WWE Monday Night Raw

April 8, 2013

WWE is live from the Izod Center in East Rutherford, NJ tonight. Justin Roberts announced to the live crowd before Raw went on the air that The Rock would not be in attendance for tonight's show, as he flew to Los Angeles last night after WrestleMania, due to a deep abdominal tear.

The new WWE Champion makes his way out to kick off Raw, to a very mixed reaction, as per usual. John Cena says it should be every Superstars dream to be in, and win, the main event of WrestleMania. The crowd boo's him and cuts them off saying, "look…we've known each other for ten years now. I may be going out on a limb here, but you guys guys seem to be a little bit angry." They start in with a huge "boring" chant, and Cena brings up how Brock Lesnar kicked his ass last year to make them happy.

He says he wants to do a little championship dance, and says he's going to do a "heel turn". The crowd starts yelling "same old shit" after Cena tells them the champ is here – he tells them this is exactly what he wanted for a post-WrestleMania celebration. He says he won't rest up and drop baloons from the ceiling, because he's fighting tonight. Cena says he doesn't care who the contender is, be it Dolph Ziggler, CM Punk, or Randy Orton.

Mark Henry makes his way to the ring, and takes off his shirt to reveal that he is dressed to compete. Henry tells Cena that if he's going to ask for trouble, he's going to find some. The champ asks if the crowd wants to have sex with chocolate, and NJ chants "YES!" in response. He tells Mark Henry he has the breath of 1,000 asses, and books the two for a match, one-on-one for the WWE Championship!

WWE Hall of Fame general manager Booker T cuts them off and makes his way to the ring. He tells them while he appreciates Cena's fighting spirit, he can't have him coming out and booking matches. Booker says The Rock is the official #1 contender, but he's not here tonight. Cena asks if it's a "once in a lifetime best-of-three" match. He tells Mark Henry that he can have a WWE title match if he can beat John Cena in a non-title match later on tonight.
