Notes From WWE Hall of Fame Ceremony – Foley Elbow Drops Jericho, Donald Trump Gets Harsh Reaction & More

WWE hosted its 2013 Hall of Fame ceremony Saturday night from Madison Square Garden in New York City.

-Mick Foley made reference to Paul Bearer during his speech, and joked about never seeing the Undertaker on Twitter. He also pointed out that he had never beaten Chris Jericho. Y2J came up to the stage and took an elbow drop from Foley. CM Punk – who was previously holding up an "applause" sign – came up to make the three-count, which worked the live crowd into a frenzy.

-Stephanie McMahon came out to brand new music. She teased that Trish Straus' in-ring career at WrestleMania may not be over just yet.

-Stratus got massive heat just for introducing her husband during the ceremony – a lot of jealous fans in attendance, apparently. She also announced that they are pregnant with their first child.

-Stevie Ray talks about Booker T's time in prison, and how the brothers used to discuss pro wrestling to pass the time during his visits. Booker gave props to Sting, Undertaker, his wife and many more. The crowd boo'd Michael Cole out of the building as he was mentioned.

-Maria Menounos gave her introduction speech for Bob Backlund, mentioning that he didn't want to turn heel in the 1980's because of his standing with at-risk youth, and left a lot of big money matches on the table because of it.

-Backlund yelled at Sgt. Slaughter for making his wife mad by all the marks he used to leave on his back. He ended his speech by telling Triple H to hire some amateur wrestler named Andrew Cabana.

-Vince McMahon has a great moment where he called himself the "ugliest bald man in the world." When a fan yelled out Hulk Hogan's name, Vince responded by saying "Hogan's name was mentioned. That's an unfortunate occurrence."

-Donald Trump got massive heat from the audience, to the point where he could barely give his speech. It's being described as somewhere between Vickie Guerrero and Michael Cole at the height of their run as heels. He challenges Vince McMahon to a match at WrestleMania XXX and said he wanted to break attendance records.

-WWE ran a John Cena "Make-a-Wish" video promo, and it got nuclear heat from the fans in attendance.

-The Governator comes out to induct Bruno Sammartino, and makes jokes about how MSG was packed, and wanted to know where they all were at his last movie premier. He says he can still lift 400 pounds, and lifted governor Chris Christie out of his chair.

-Sammartino talks about growing up in Italy and running from the Nazis with his family. He mentions his wife, who he has been married to for 54 years, and never taking any drugs, pain kilers or medication for his injuries throughout his career. He thanks the fans and says he owes everything in his career to them, and to Madison Square Garden.

-The night ends with a final appearance by the entire WWE Hall of Fame class of 2013.
