Divas Champion Interview Reveals How She Got Into NXT, Her Favorite Wrestler Growing Up

On If she liked wrestling growing up:

“I wanted to be exactly like my brother, and he loved wrestling, so I naturally loved wrestling. I was a tomboy and super athletic, and loved any kind of sports.It’s funny; I really liked Goldberg because he was such a bad (dude), and now I’m using “the spear” as my finisher as a little bit of a tribute to him. That’s a pretty cool full-circle moment.”

On how she got into professional wrestling:

“I played competitive soccer for about 15 years, and then I made a decision not to play in college. I got into fitness and bodybuilding, and I competed for a few years. I’ve always loved a challenge, so I tried out and won, and the rest is history. I loved it from day one, and I still love it.”

On her thoughts of this year’s Wrestlemania:

“When it comes to Wrestlemania, I’m such a fan. Even though I’m part of it, I’m literally surprised and every single week — even when I’m watching from backstage — I can’t tear my eyes away from the show. Wrestlemania is our Super Bowl. So every show, as it gets closer and closer, something insane happens.”

Josh controls most of the creative writing and ideas for the show on a weekly basis, as well as an on-air talent.

Aside from working with WrestleZone, Isenberg began his career in Broadcast Journalism interning at ESPN and worked with CBS Radio for three years. He has also had the opportunity to interview some of the best athletes and performers alive, including Andrew McCutchen, Ben Roethlisberger, Chris Jericho, Billy Gunn, Karl Anderson, Matt Hardy, Steven Strasburg and others.

Currently, Josh Isenberg works for Major League Baseball in their Advanced Media Productions. He grew up in Pittsburgh and went to Point Park University, which is where Chair Shot Reality is filmed each week.

His life outside of his obsession with wrestling include being a savant for Seinfeld, NFL, NBA, MLB and many television shows. He also has an undying love for musicals, which includes many shows he was a part of in high school. Some of his favorite wrestling moments can be linked to such superstars as Edge, The Rock, Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels and The Great Khali.
