Ring of Honor Set To Lose Major TV Partner This Month

Ring of HonorSinclair Broadcast Group, the parent company behind Ring of Honor, recently began informing its viewers that they do not believe a new carriage agreement will be reached between them and DirecTV. The current agreement ends on 2/28, at which time the satellite company would drop Sinclair stations from their programming.

This is a similar situation Impact Wrestling was in last July when Viacom and DirecTV were having problems with negotiations. Viacom-owned stations, including Spike TV that airs Impact, were taken off the air for two weeks until a new agreement was finally reached.

That seems to be the major difference between the two situations, however, as Sinclair doesn't seem to expect a new deal will be reached. There was never a doubt Viacom and DirecTV would come to an agreement, eventually.

Sinclair is encouraging DirecTV customers to call their satellite provider and tell them they want their favorite programming to stay, or to request a lower bill if DirecTV stops carrying Sinclair stations.
