Mt. Killamanjaro: TNA Turning Point Preview – Looking Back on Last Year’s Show, Your Predictions, & More!

I don’t put a whole lot of faith in contract rumors, until I see (or don’t see) the outcome put over on television. Eric Young may very well have wrestled his last match with TNA and Impact Wrestling, but there’s still a very good chance he shows up at Turning Point tonight and fights for his woman. That being said, the direction they take with this match is pretty hard to predict without knowing the definite status of EY, or the creative plans for his fake marriage to ODB.

All that aside, the Impact segments between three of these competitors have actually been… not terrible! The EY/ODB union remains moderately entertaining, and Tara is such a pro she has managed to carry Jesse the Wonderboy through this program with a reasonable amount of pain sustained by the audience. I still can’t believe three people in this match hold titles, and all of them are largely irrelevant in today’s wrestling landscape, and it will be a cold day in hell before I put over anybody from Big Brother. BUT…things are a reasonably better than they could be, given the circumstance. I doubt that’s a tagline TNA will want to affix to their promotional material, but it is the highest praise I can give this match.

My Prediction: EY doesn’t show for the match itself, and the heels find a way to cheat their way to victory, following the embarrassing handicap loss they suffered on Impact. I wouldn’t be terribly surprised if Young showed up post-match to even the odds and save his wife. Unless he is indeed done with TNA, at which point I will be somewhat sad by the loss of his odd comedic timing.
