Samoa Joe (c) vs. Magnus

As soon as the bell rings, the two skip locking up and fire away at each other with rights and lefts. Magnus takes cover to the outside, but Joe follows and sends him into the barricade. Joe with quick right jabs, and sends Magnus into the steel ring steps. The two roll back into the ring Joe keeps up the closed fists in the corner. Big standing splash, but he only gets an early two-count. Magnus to his feet now, but Joe lands a flying knee to the temple, and the Impact Zone is on fire for the Samoan Submission Machine.

Joe Irish whips his opponent from the ropes, but Magnus ducks under a clothesline and lands one of his own. Joe doesn’t stay down long though, and escapes a splash in the corner and lands the pele kick. Magnus rolls to the outside to catch his breath. Joe tries to leap through the ropes, but Magnus throws  a steel chair right into his face, knocking down the Samoan. The Brit hits the ring and takes control for the first time in this match. That advantage doesn’t last long, as Joe catches a double ax handle attempt right into an Atomic Drop. That doesn’t take Magnus out completely though, as he tries for a hurricanrana, only to get caught in the air and sent back down to earth with a powerbomb.

Joe takes Magnus up to the top rope and gets him in position for the Muscle Buster. Magnus rakes the eyes and jumps up with a swift kick to the jaw, knocking down the champion. The Brit flies off the top rope with the elbow drop – Kennelly mentioning this is how Magnus beat Joe on Impact – but he only gets two! Falcon Arrow connects, and Magnus hits yet another elbow drop off the top rope; Joe still kicks out before the three-count.

Both men to their feet now, with the fans on Joe’s side. The two trade punches with Magnus getting the better of the exchange. He backs Joe into the corner and tries for a running splash, but gets caught in the Champion’s signature STO. Magnus flees to the outside, and again finds the steel chair. Joe again looks to fly, and Magnus again prepares the chair. However, instead of going through the ropes, Joe goes over the ropes completely and splashes onto the challenger! Joe throws Magnus back in the ring, lands the Muscle Buster. 1…2…but Magnus kicks out! Magnus gets to his feet and yells at Joe to do his worst; he runs right into the Coquina Clutch. Magnus loses life and the referee calls the match.
