Madden Sounds Off On Twitter; Says WWE Wants Orton Gone

Nick Paglino

Randy OrtonWZ's Mark Madden sounded off on Twitter Thursday, noting that there are some within WWE that want Randy Orton gone from the company following his 60 day suspension. Madden Tweeted:

"WWE wants to get rid of Orton PERMANENTLY. Character and popularity have plateaued, and he's a pain to deal with."

Madden then added, in response to a reader Tweet, that "Vince thinks everybody is a WWE creation, and therefore disposable, to be replaced by another WWE creation. And you're overrating Orton."

The Wrestling Observer noted earlier in the week that while there is a small vocal minority in WWE that is lobbying for Orton's release, Vince McMahon is still contemplating his options and might ultimately retain Orton due to lack of roster depth.
