Brandon Jacobs Speaks on TNA Appearance, Sting Comments

Impact WrestlingUSA Today has posted a story highlighting New York Giants running back Brandon Jacobs' appearance at the TNA Impact Wrestling tapings last night. The following is an excerpt from the article, which you can read in full by clicking on the above link:

"I've always been a fan of wresting growing up and had the opportunity to be a part of it," Jacobs said Monday. "Excited and can't wait to get out there."

Giants all-pro DE Jason Pierre-Paul was initially scheduled for the gig but backed out.

Jacobs (6-4, 264 pounds) will be the latest athlete to enter the pro wrestling arena, joining a list that includes Dennis Rodman, Karl Malone and, last year, Jets ILB Bart Scott, among others.

Jacobs, who grew up admiring wrestling personalities such as Mankind and The Undertaker, will be stepping into the ring with Kurt Angle.

Jacobs didn't want to give away any details but did offer: "I'm a villain in everyday life, so I see myself as a good guy (in the ring)."

Additionally, TNA star Sting had the following to say on Twitter about Jacobs' appearance at the Impact tapings:

"Impact Wrestling got a huge injection of greatness through Brandon Jacobs!! What a perfect fit- Brandon, you bring truck loads to us!!"
