Impact Wrestling Results (12/22) – Wild Card Tourney Moves On, Sting/Hardy vs Bully Ray/Roode In Street Fight

Bobby Roode comes out with Bully Ray and wishes everyone a Merry Christmas and he hopes they loved their gifts when they beat up Sting and Hardy. He says the only thing they didn't do was wrap a bow around them, and Ray says he gives all year long like Roode but he likes giving beatings more than anything. Roode says they did give a hell of a beating but the one thing Sting proved is that there is always a consequence, and he is probably on Sting's bad list. He tells Sting to come out and tell him to his face that he is suspended because that would be the right thing to do and he needs the time off, but Jeff Hardy comes out to see him instead.

Hardy says this whole thing is about the two of them, and he knows Roode won't get suspended because he is taking the title in three weeks and ending the selfish generation. Hardy also tells Ray and Roode they will face him and a partner of his choosing, and Ray tells him no one likes him and he doesn't have any friends. Sting's music starts to play and he walks out backwards, but turns and reveals he is wearing a Jeff Hardy shirt and his facepaint, then says he loves Hardy and he would be honored to be his partner tonight. Roode screams that he can't do that, but Sting says he just did it and tells them 'ta-ta for now' and shakes hands and leaves with Hardy.

Wild Card Tag Team Tournament

Christopher Daniels & RVD vs AJ Styles & Kazarian

RVD locks up with Kaz and avoids an armlock, then pulls the ropes and goes for a heel kick but Kazarian ducks and knocks him to the mat. He follows with a headlock then RVD pushes him into the ropes and Kaz hits a shoulderblock and they stand off before AJ tags in while Daniels tries to talk to RVD. AJ tries to whip him off the ropes but RVD holds on with a headlock, but AJ eventually shakes him off and hits a dropkick. He tries to follow it up and leapfrogs RVD in the corner, then RVD kicks him in the gut but AJ is able to tag in Kaz, who gets thrown across the ring with a monkey flip. (Cont'd…)
