The Cashbox: Three Reasons Why 1/2/12 Won’t Be Jericho

3) Ego Trumps All

If those first two reasons aren't enough, this one should seal the deal.

Vince's ego won't allow fans to be "that" right. He loves changing his mind last minute because he thinks he's "getting one over" on the fans. Especially the internet fans. God forbid we spoil his business or figure out his plans before he wants us to.

Why was Brodus Clay not the one to take out John Morrison? That was the original plan and although it was leaked by internet reporters, Brodus Clay even spoiled it himself on Twitter. Either way, Vince changed the DAY OF THE SHOW because in his mind, a spoiled outcome is a ruined outcome. Obviously this is only the case with live shows like Raw, huge angles and surprises.

Vince has to be in control and the moment that control is lost, he changes anything and everything around until he regains it. I feel the same will be true for 1.2.12. If the original plan was for the videos to lead to Chris Jericho's return, I doubt that plan is still in tact.

Could I be proven wrong? I hope I am, honestly. Unless there's another "logical" option available that will wow us. While the impact of a Chris Jericho return will certainly be reduced due to expectation, it's still better than most scenarios that make little to no sense.

In conclusion, to those of you fans thinking it's a foregone conclusion that the videos are for Y2J – and by the way, there's no way you could have read "Chris" on that small notebook in the last video – it's for that very reason they probably won't be now.

You continue to put your money on Jericho and I'll take mine all the way to the bank on just about ANYONE else.
