Early Estimate Shows Poor Buyrate For 2011 WWE Summerslam

Nick Paglino

Randy OrtonThe Wrestling Observer is reporting that the early numbers are in for the 2011 WWE SummerSlam PPV, and they show the event taking in 301,000 buys, with 174,000 of them being domestic.

If these numbers are accurate, then the 2011 event will have taken in the lowest amount of domestic buys in Summerslam history. Last year's show took in 349,000 total buys, with 209,000 buys coming domestically. The 2011 PPV was headlined by John Cena vs CM Punk for the WWE Title and Randy Orton vs Christian for the World Title.
