*Spoiler:* 2nd WWE SD! Report: FCW Champ Wrestles, NXT

Nick Paglino

WWE Smackdown– Opening dark match had Leo Kruger go over Johnny Curtis in a pretty decent match. Kruger got plenty of heat on the mic before the match, pitching himself as a South-African, anti-American. The crowd really hated him, and while it was a fairly generic promo I saw a lot of good things in the FCW Champion. Hope to see him more on television, and hopefully that's more than NXT. Kruger won with a roll up and a hand full of tights.

– The opening segment took a moment or two to get rolling. JTG and Young came out to cut a heel promo but the audience wasn't having that. JTG immediately said "What's up, haters in St. Louis?" and received a decent sized face pop. It was as though the crowd didn't really care what he said. They were used to seeing JTG dance and so they wanted to cheer for him. JTG corrected us, let us know how lame we were and then we had the Uso's. These two really impressed me on the mic, bringing up their lineage and basically setting the main event of the evening.

– Next we had Jinder Mahal go over Yoshi Tatsu in an incredibly boring match due to conflicting styles. Tatsu wasn't comfortable in Mahal's slow pace, vice versa and it showed. Side note: Mahal's finisher looks extremely WEAK live. Although when I watched the replay on the titan tron it didn't look so bad.

– Percy Watson and AJ backstage with Hornswoggle went over pretty well with the crowd. I however hated it and went to get a beer, missing Watson's match with Tyson Kidd. Oops.

– The Uso's over JTG and Young was a solid match. The crowd is in to the Uso's, which became solidified with their pop after the three count. This momentum was wasted however when Curt Hawkins and Tyler Reks did their beat down. The crowd went dead.

– Daniel Bryan goes over Trent Baretta in a nicely worked match. It took the crowd a while to get in to Bryan, which scares me in regards to his push and future pushes. Bryan's entrance had almost zero momentum but once he got in the ring, the IWC came out of the wood work and started chants for the American Dragon. I tried to start a "FI-NAL COUNT-DOWN" chant, but the little Jimmy's in my section had no clue. Baretta gave us a nice leap to the outside. Bryan gets a decent pop for his victory but nowhere near where it should have been.

– Brodus Clay's squash victory over St. Louis' Brian Thomas was pathetic. I understand pushing this guy, that's fine. But the way it's being handled is horrible. He was featured in the build up to one of Mania's main events last year. What the hell is he doing squashing no-names on Superstars? I mean he worked well and played the role, but something is not happening properly on creative's end.

– Booker got a huge face reaction on his entrance. If the rumors are true and he is penciled for a short in ring program I can't wait to see who it's with. Henry got HUGE heat from the St. Louis crowd which made me really happy. I'm glad the guy is finally getting some kind of a reaction and it's not thanks to NOD or Sexual Chocolate. It's about time he has a nice run. I'd love to see Henry go over Orton this weekend and a short Henry/Booker program. Might be nice. It was a typical Hall of Pain promo and brought us in to Henry/Khali.

– Few notes about Henry/Khali. First, the World's Strongest Splash looks horrible live. Second, they messed up the finish and went back and did it again. Khali accidentally kicked out of the slam somehow the first time. Then Henry tried the cover again but the ref wouldn't have it. I'm guessing someone was in his ear. This may go over as, "it took two Slams to put Khali down". But if you only see one slam to the finish on Friday Night then it was edited. Henry grabs the chair and smashes Khali's ankle in it. I was actually impressed with Khali's job on the sell. I felt he sold just enough, and didn't go overboard.

– Next they gave us a promo video for the new Austin DVD. Interesting note: Austin didn't get a huge reaction from the crowd. However, What? chants flooded the arena during the Booker/Henry promo.

– Bourne got a HUGE response being a hometown boy. Vickie's stable got a nice reaction despite no "Excuse Me" to introduce them. I thought it interesting that Swagger entered to Ziggler's music, but it worked. Swagger's win over Bourne garnered solid heat. I was hoping for an Air Boom/Camp Ziggler match at Hell in a Cell.
