WWE “Night Of Champions” PPV Results – September 18, 2011


WWE Intercontinental Title: Cody Rhodes vs. Ted DiBiase

DiBiase comes out to the “I Come From Money” song. He plays to the crowd early. A few minutes into the match, DiBiase removes Rhodes’ face shield. The crowd digs that. As DiBiase attempts to swing and hit Rhodes with his own mask, he misses, allowing Rhodes to roll him up and secure the three-count for the clean pinfall victory.

Winner: Cody Rhodes

In-Ring Segment: Christian & Sheamus

Christian comes to the ring in street clothes. He says he’s been in the business for 17 years. He says because of his accomplishments, he should get one more match with Randy Orton for the title. Christian takes a jab at the Buffalo crowd because their Buffalo Bills never won a world title. Christian tries to get the fans to chant “one more match.” Sheamus’s music hits and out he comes. Sheamus does his attempt at a comedy promo. Sheamus makes a deal with Christian. Sheamus says if he helps get Christian one more match, he has to promise to defend the title against him first. Christian agrees. Sheamus leads the crowd to chant “one more match” and then hits Christian with the Brogue Kick.

Fatal Fourway: Dolph Ziggler vs. Jack Swagger vs. John Morrison vs. Alex Riley

Vickie Guerrero comes out with Dolph Ziggler. All four guys have come out, and it’s time for our fatal fourway. Only a few minutes into the match, Riley had Swagger pinned, but Vickie Guerrero put Swagger’s foot on the ropes to break the count. Ziggler then acuses Vickie of costing him the match, which doesn’t make much sense considering he would have lost the title if Riley pinned Swagger. Morrison suplexes Riley off the top. Swagger suplexes Ziggler off the top. Morrison sells a knee injury at ringside. Swagger has Riley in the ankle lock, while at the same time Ziggler has Morrison in a sleeper hold. Both guys escape. Riley scores a nearfall on Swagger. Swagger hit Morrison with the gut-wrench powebomb, but Ziggler shoves him aside and pins Morrison himself.

Winner: Dolph Ziggler
