Examiner Article Says TruTV Conspiracy List Fails Miserably

Nick Paglino

Earlier today we reported that TruTV has posted a list of what they are calling the "24 Biggest Pro Wrestling Conspiracies." A new article written by Rick Rockwell for Examiner.com has taken exception to the TruTV list, and claims it has "failed miserably." The following is an excerpt from Rockwell’s column:

"On Wednesday, TruTV released a list of what they considered pro wrestling’s biggest conspiracies. Unfortunately, by Wednesday afternoon, wrestling fans and critics were frustrated over some of the items listed as conspiracies especially when the authors of the list included wrestlers whom died of natural causes into a list of conspiracies. According to TruTV, the following details were released to promote the list:

Right off the bat, wrestling fans take umbrage with the first item listed by TruTV. The authors asked the question if the Pillman family was cursed. Brian Pillman died from heart complications in 1997 while his daughter died 11 years later in a car accident. Labeling this a family curse is inaccurate. The Von Erich family resembled more of a family curse but it didn’t even make the list.

Another conspiracy that was overlooked was the brutal murder of Bruiser Brody in Puerto Rico. Nobody was arrested for the murder even though they knew who did it. This was one of the worse conspiracies in all of pro-wrestling. But instead, the TruTV list talks about Eddie G. and Chris Benoit dying a few days before their respective title shots, Foley and other wrestlers losing body parts in the ring, and labeling the deaths of wrestlers like Big Bossman, Rick Rude, Mr. Perfect and Andre the Giant as being a conspiracy. Andre died of a disease (Acromegaly) and there’s nothing controversial about it." Be sure to click on the above links to check out the rest of the article.
