UFC Confirms Change To All Future Non-Title Main Events

UFC president Dana White announced a change to the structure of all future non-title main events fights in the promotion.

At the UFC 131 pre-fight press conference, White confirmed that from this point forward, all non-title UFC main event fights will be five rounds.

Prior to the announcement, all UFC non-title fights, main event or otherwise, were three rounders. Only title fights were contested under the five round system. From now on, all UFC main events, title or non-title, will be five rounds.
