TNA News: Dusty Rhodes Backstage Issues, Pyro Crew Fired; & More

– There is already said to be some negative response to Dusty Rhodes’ new booking decisions in TNA. Although no one in the company feels Jeff Jarrett should take over as head booker again, many wrestlers have been rolling their eyes at some of the ideas Rhodes has put on TV. Some of those include pairing Traci Brooks with himself on TV and hiring his son Dustin Rhodes (aka Goldust). One TNA wrestler went on record as saying quote, “You can’t have a 55 year-old who knows Texas and the South writing a national product. They need younger writers.” It should be noted however that Rhodes is very open to wrestlers pitching ideas to him, which is something Jarrett was opposed to during his time as booker.

– TNA has since replaced the Chicago pyro crew they had been using for a few months with a local crew in the Orlando area.

– The TNA 2004 Year-End Awards have been officially announced over at TNAwrestling.com. The results also show the winners from the year before in 2003. Bill Banks noted in his “Bank Shot” column many times that TNA plans to tape an award ceremony for each winner that will air later on Fox Sports Net.
