  • IPW:UK Return Of The Dragon Card Updated

» After last night’s sensational Best of British 1 event, topped off with Aviv Maayan’s stunning 25 minute survival through scramble, elimination, tag and no DQ settings, many new additions have been made to the Return of the Dragon event card for March 20th.

‘New Superstar’ Stevie Douglas managed to take out Britain’s own ‘Superstar’ Tony Sefton in a battle of the superstars. Douglas then proceeded to make his presence felt after the main event had come to an end by attacking Aviv Maayan with his German crested chair – explaining that he is the best High Flyer in IPW (Stevie is the current wXw Light-Heavyweight Champion), but due to not being ‘British’ like the Wales native Aviv Maayan, he couldn’t register for any Best of British matches.

Before leaving, Douglas challenged Aviv to a No DQ, No Countout Tornado Tag Match at the next show, with Maayan free to bring a partner of his own choosing. The crowd chanted loudly “SPUD, SPUD, SPUD, SPUD” while Aviv was pondering, but Spud will already be wrestling twice that evening in the Round Robin tournament. Therefore, Aviv said he will ponder his options, make his contacts and let us at IPW:UK know when he has made his decision.

» As just touched upon, Spud is the first name announced for the Round Robin tournament at Return of the Dragon. Also originally scheduled was ‘New Superstar’ Stevie Douglas, but after his challenge at Best of British 1, matchmakers have decided to sanction that bout and will have to now find a replacement for Douglas from the IPW:UK roster. Rumors are already flying around as to who could be the international superstar in the Round Robin, and who will be the international flavoured talent that Aviv Maayan manages to recruit for his main event bout.

» And finally, former Ring of Honor champion Samoa Joe will make his IPW:UK debut and bring Honor to the company as he completes his 3-day whirlwind tour of the UK. Coming to IPW:UK courtesy of The Wrestling Channel and their Coventry supershow on March 19th, Joe will be looking to take on a strong-style combatant in a hard-hitting encounter, and while his opponent has yet to be decided, whomever IPW matchmakers find – it should be a classic.

  • Therefore the current card stands as:

No DQ, No Countout Tornado Tag Team Match

‘New Superstar’ Stevie Douglas & PWG Champion Super Dragon vs. Best of British: High Flyers Winner Aviv Maayan & An International Partner Of His Choosing

    The Round Robin Tournament

    feat. Spud, ??? & ???

Plus, former Ring of Honor Champion Samoa Joe and many more.
