Major ECW Update: War Of Talent?; WWE Contacts TNA; & More

We have an update on the ECW reunion weekend set to take place in June.

Several different sources within WWE are claiming that there was never any attempt made by WWE representatives to lure talent away from Shane Douglas’ reunion show for a better paycheck. WWE is taking the stance that any outside wrestlers they contact are from the Independent scene and can work both shows if they want. It is likely that some talent will appear on both shows while others will not. There is no ‘war’ going on between the two.

In a fairly surprising move, we’re told WWE representatives (like Tommy Dreamer) contacted the TNA offices last week and asked about the possibility of letting Jerry Lynn, Kid Kash, Shane Douglas, and Raven work the WWE/ECW PPV. At this time, no deal has been worked out and it does not appear TNA will be sending talent WWE’s way. It is nice to see WWE at least attempting to contact TNA about the ECW reunion. They are putting forth the effort.

Joe Styles was contacted at the same time Sandman, Justin Credible and others were. They asked him about commentating the show and Styles wrote on his website that he would only be appearing at the Shane Douglas ECW show and not WWE’s.

Tony Mamaluke has agreed to work WWE’s ECW PPV. That could be a sign of him teaming with Nunzio/Little Guido.
