Huge ECW Update: Full Breakdown Of Both Reunion Shows

We have a major update on the two seperate ECW reunion shows taking place during the second weekend of June.

Friday night, June 10th, Shane Douglas will be presenting his ECW reunion show from the historic ECW Arena in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Francine, Sabu, JT Smith, Terry Funk, Justin Credible, Tracy Smothers, Johnny Grunge, Gary Wolfe, Bill Alfonso, Raven, Sandman, 911, and Todd Gordon have all committed to Douglas’s show.

Sunday night, June 12th, WWE will be presenting “ECW: One Night Stand” live on Pay-Per-view. Jim Ross, Stephanie McMahon, Tommy Dreamer and John Laurenaitis have been named as creative directors, with Paul Heyman serving as a creative consultant.

At this time, there is a tremendous amount of former ECW talent under WWE contract. The Dudley Boyz, Tazz, Rob Van Dam, Tommy Dreamer, Al Snow, Rhyno, Tajiri, Spike Dudley, Rey Mysterio, Chris Jericho, Eddie Guererro, Chavo Guererro, Dean Malenko, Chris Benoit, Simon Dean (as Nova), and Nunzio (as Little Guido) are all available to appear at the show.

Former ECW wrestlers New Jack, Tracy Smothers and Tony Mamaluke will be at the show. To give the show that extra feeling of ECW authenticity, former ECW referees John Finnegan, Mike Kehner and Jim Molineaux have been signed to work the show as well.

Despite past reports, several different sources within WWE are claiming that there was never any attempt made by WWE representatives to lure talent away from Shane Douglas’ reunion show for a better paycheck. WWE is taking the stance that any performers not currently under WWE contract that they reach can work both shows if they want.

It is likely that some talent will appear on both shows while others will not. There is no ‘talent war’ going on between the two.

Tickets for both shows are scheduled to go on sale within the next 1-2 months.
