In a rather interesting move, WWE posted an interview with Kevin Nash to hype the upcoming HBK vs. Hogan Summerslam match.
Nash, who’s worked extensively with both Hulk Hogan and Shawn Michaels, had no problem putting the two over.
“Both of those guys were very instrumental in the success of my career. It was kind of like your first kiss with Shawn. And then Hulk was later on in my career after I had success, so it was a completely different experience entirely,” he told WWE.com.
The former nWo member, however, dismissed Michaels’ claims that the “old HBK” is back – Nash feels HBK’s beliefs will get in the way of a full-fledged heel turn.
However, Nash does not feel the match will suffer due to HBK’s reluctance to turn all-out heel. Similar to Rock vs. Hogan, Nash feels that it’s the names in the match – and not the storyline – that will sell PPVs. He doesn’t believe HBK sees a need to feign a nasty side purely for the show.
“I just don’t think, in talking to him the last couple of weeks, that he feels he needs that. I think that the really successful people in our business have been able to pull something out that’s a real personality trait. And that’s not a real personality trait he has anymore,” he said.
