In an interesting note, there is mention of WWE in the November 2005 edition of MAD Magazine. They have ‘WWE’s Antique Wrestler’s Road Show’ in their list of made-up celebrity reality TV shows currently under development, on page 9.
Also, in the movie The Squid And The Whale, there is a poster in the background of one of the scenes with The Hurricane, with “reading can give you super powers” written on it. The funny thing is, the movie is supposed to take place in 1986, way before Hurricane’s time.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that Diva Search contestant Leyla Milani is shooting a low budget horror movie called Wrestle Maniac. It’s about a former wrestler who goes insane and begins a killing spree. Her role requires a nude scene. WWE has expressed interest in bringing in Leyla.
