UFC President Comments On The WWE vs. UFC War

Speaking to Karate Weekly, Dana White offered the following with regards to the “war” between World Wrestling Entertainment and Ultimate Fighting Championship:

“Is there a rivalry? I don’t know. The thing is, WWE is huge. They’ve been around for 30-plus years, I don’t even know how many years they’ve been around. They’ve been building their business for years, the UFC that we’ve been building with Zuffa, has been around for five. Is there any animosity with us? Absolutely not, I think we do two totally different things. We’re real fighting, they’re not. They have a great business, and have been running that business and making a lot of money for a lot of years. I don’t know how we compete with them, because we’re two different businesses. Obviously we compete for airtime on Pay-per-view and we’re both jumping around and talking to networks and things like that, but other than that, we’re two totally different businesses.”

White did not comment on the Mike Goldberg situation, in which WWE offered Goldberg a hefty fee to no-show the October Ultimate Fight Night in favor of WWE RAW Homecoming.
