WWE Results From Mexico City: Orton/Taker

Hey I’m a fan of your website and I thought I’d give you a report of the show I just came back from.

Facts:

– Mexico City’s first WWE show ever.

– Sold out arena with 20,000+ crazy fans

– SmackDown! brand show

– Huge Eddie Chants all night long

Mexican crowds are really amazing. You could probably ask any artist and I’m sure they would point you here. In fact the crowd made the show so much better. Anyway, here it goes:

First El Hijo del Santo, son of late Mexican legend El Santo, arrived with security for his ring side seat. HUGE reaction.

Theodore Long came out and said this night was in the memmory of Eddie and gave him the 10 bell saulte.

1. Kendrick/London vs. The Dicks

Decent opener. The crowd didn’t really know these guys, but it was decent. The end came when Animal interfered and attacked the Dicks so London and Kendrick could get the win. Afterwards London and Spanky invited Animal to celebrate with them, and he did, only he turned on them and kicked their ass. That was pretty cool.

2. Lashley vs. Orlando

Decent match. It wasen’t a squash, Orlando actually got some offense. He fell when he was climbing the turnbuckle, which was funny. Lashley got a good reaction, and he finished Orlando with the Dominator.

3. Kash vs. Funaki vs. Noble for the WWE Cruiserweight Championship

Decent match. Funaki got a good reaction, and we got good cruiserweight action. The ending was cheap, Kash had a cast a he hit Noble to pin him. Remember he broke his arm?

4. Sylvan vs. The Boogeyman

Fun squash. Booogeyman’s entrance is pretty cool but he never came from the ramp. Because he was behind Sylvan. Crowd liked this. Sylvan obvioysly played the scared and disgusted guy. Boogeyman used the Pump Handle Slam for the win.

5. Psicosis/Super Crazy vs. MNM for the WWE Tag Team Championship

Great match. Crowd went nuts. Some cool spots. The ending was cheap, Nitro hit Crazy with the belt and got the pin. HUGE heat for that.

Intermission

6. Rey/Benoit vs. JBL/Booker

Ok this was something special. JBL came out cut a promo which bothered the crowd a lot. Then he and Booker trashed talked El Hijo del Santo who was at ringside. At this point the crowd wanted them dead. El Hijo del Santo actually punched JBL and got a HUGE ovation. The crowd was so pissed with the heels they started to throw ice cubes and actually hit a camera man and Sharmell who had to be checked by a doctor at ringside. She came back though. The match was hot, Mysterio obviously was over but he actually had problems in the ring. He slipped when bouncing off the ropes and appears TO HAVE INJURED HIMSELF. Maybe he was just selling it. Finish came when Benoit did the Los Tres Amigos, and then did the famous Eddie tope slingshot jump from the apron and then Rey did the frogsplash. Crowd was insane. Amazing Eddie tribute afterwards. Best one ever I promise. This will probably be on TV next week. Both Benoit and Rey cried, and El Hijo del Santo came to the ring and they hugged and Rey gave some very emotional words. Very emotional match and tribute.

Crowd obviously lost energy after this.

6. Henry vs. Angle for the World Heavyweight Championship

Terrible match. Poor Angle. The thing is, nobody knew who Mark Henry was to begin with. Henry dominated most of the match and this one proved why he has to stay away from a ring. HE ALMOST KILLED ANGLE! He had him up in a Military Press and dropped him out of the ring, only he missed his target and Angle fell on the ropes almost killing himself. Ending came when MNM interfered and Henry got DQed. Angle gave him a chairshot afterwards.

7. Undertaker vs. Orton

Huge reaction for Taker. This match started REALLY slow. It was old school. At first it was really boring and the crowd was dying. But it picked up and ended up real nice with Taker getting the Tombstone. I predicted the ending after seeing so many matched between these two but the crowd (mostly casual fans) ate it up.

Overall I’d give it a 7 out of 10. It was good. The wrestling was bad overall. But it was a good espectacle with a really hot crowd. Crowd went home happy and amazed.
