Samoa Joe Injury Update, Why Angle/Joe Was Cut Short

Samoa Joe has been diagnosed with a severe second degree MCL sprain. Joe suffered the injury while working the Impact tapings Monday night in Orlando, FL.

Kurt Angle vs. Samoa Joe II at the Turning Point PPV was given 25 minutes of PPV time to fill on Sunday night, including ring introductions. According to those close to the situation, the match filled the time well and was a big improvement over last month’s match at Genesis which ran very short. One of the reasons for it running short was due to the fact that Angle called for the match to end early, most likely because he wasn’t in cardio shape after taking some time off. It should also be noted that Jeff Jarrett pulled both Angle and Joe aside after the Genesis match and, according to one source, chewed them out for going short. Jarrett told both that it was an important PPV for them and that they could have ran the risk of a backlash for it being less than 15 minutes. While that was an issue last month, everyone in TNA was said to be thrilled with the second match on Sunday.
