Huge Evening Update: Chavo, Savage, RAW, Linda, More

He discussed his relationship with Chris Benoit, including the fact Benoit was considered a “Guerrero,” the text messages he received from Chris the weekend he killed his wife and son before hanging himself and other things.

Jason Adams sent this in: I don’t know if you guys have already seen this but the Macho Man Randy Savage is going to be on the next season of the Surreal Life on VH1.

Thomas sent us word that Comcast in Philadelphia is also editing any appearance of Chris Benoit on the WWE 24/7 network.

As reported earlier, the 7/16 edition of WWE Monday Night Raw drew a final 3.4 cable rating with a 5.5 share. The first hour drew a 3.3 rating, while the second hour drew a 3.5 rating. This is the same rating the show drew last week and is the lowest back-to-back ratings that Raw has drawn since October of 2004. The 7/14 edition of WWE A.M. Raw drew a final 0.6 cable rating with a 2.9 share. We still don’t have a final number for last week’s Smackdown yet.

Linda McMahon, CEO of World Wrestling Entertainment Inc., accepted on behalf of WWE the Ticketmaster Platinum Ticket Award presented by Ken Lesnik, Sr. Regional Director Sales & Marketing, Ticketmaster. The award is given to Ticketmasterâs national clients whose sales in North America exceeded 500,000 tickets through Ticketmaster channels in 2006. With sales exceeding more than 640,000 tickets in 2006, WWE joins 35 other touring events, performers, venues, promoters and sports teams including Aerosmith, Dave Matthews Band, Disney on Ice, Madison Square Garden, House of Blues and Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey in receiving this inaugural award. The Ticketmaster Platinum Ticket Award is the highest, and the only, award given by Ticketmaster.

Big Vision Entertainment will be releasing a 4 disc DVD set titled “Wrestling Society X: The First (and Last) Season” this coming November. The DVD will will include all ten episodes of WSX from MTV, including the final episode which never aired in the United States. Extras will also include the WSXtra internet episodes, unaired promos, interviews, WSX digital trading cards and more.
