SD! Rating Delayed, Hardy, Benoit, Astin, & More

BruzerJeff passed on a link to a story in the National Ledger about the passing of former ECW John Kronus at nationalledger.com. Note from us: There was also a story issued by the Associated Press this week about his passing, something that of course is getting national attention due to the recent Chris Benoit tragedy. Nancy Grace and other shows have also talked about Kronus as well this week from what I’ve seen.

Harry sent this in: Found a flaw in WWE’s Smackdown results for this past Friday. In the Smackdown results, it states the if Matt Hardy wins the U.S. Title from MVP, it will be his first major title holding in the WWE. I guess they do not acknowledge past title wins from the WWF era, because from what I remember, Matt Hardy won the European Title from Eddie Guerrero in April of 2001, and then lost it to The Hurricane in August that same year during the Invasion angle.

On July 18, Judge Jack T. Camp officially ordered that prosecutors will have until August 9 to handle discovery in the criminal case against Chris Benoit’s physician Dr. Phil Astin. The “discovery” part would obviously be in regards to any research needed prior to filing potential additional charges against Astin beyond the current counts he has against him already. Astin’s defense will have until August 30 to file any pre-trial motions.

Due to a problem at Nielsen Media Research, the fast national rating for last night’s 7/20 edition of WWE Friday Night Smackdown has been delayed until next week.
