Fired TNA Star Lashes Out, TNA Wrestler Responds

Matt Bentley appeared on the “Between the Ropes” radio show in Florida last night and discussed his release from TNA Wrestling.

Bentley, whose deal with TNA expires on August 20, said TNA simply informed him that he was finished with the company instead of thanking him for his time with the company and wishing him well. He described the morale of the TNA roster as being very poor and that many wrestlers are upset that they work hard only to have former WWE stars being brought in and leapfrogging them for a larger spot on the roster.

Bentley continued to address former WWE stars being brought into TNA saying they were supposed to be “big stars”, but the ratings never rise. He said that TNA used to be a place that was fun to work, but it has now changed where you used to be able to go out and work hard in the ring where as now it is all about “entertainment” segments. Bentley also put a lot of blame on Dutch Mantel with TNA’s problems saying he never liked the Serotonin gimmick.

In regards to a Congressional letter being sent to TNA, Bentley said he was never drug tested by TNA during his time working there and didn’t see other wrestlers being tested either. To listen to the full interview, visit www.betweentheropes.com.

It should be noted that one TNA wrestler who heard Bentley’s comments on “Between the Ropes” had the following comment: “You have to put it in perspective. This is a guy who wanted $2,500 a shot.”
