Monday Night Raw â” October 15, 2007
9:00 â” Tonightâs RAW opens with flashbacks from No Mercy with Randy Orton becoming the WWE Champion. Followed by flashbacks of Shawn Michaelâs return.
Backstage Randy Orton approaches William Regal
âMr. Regal, last week on Raw HHH was supposed to be the first man to come to the ring and shake my hand to congratulate me, but instead, Shawn Michaels comes out and attacks me.
Now youâre the GM, and if anyone has the right to make the decision as to who I should face at Cyber Sunday, it should be you, not the fans.
I came here to fight; Iâm dressed for it. Tonight I think there should be a triple threat match with my three possible opponents, Mr. Kennedy, Jeff Hardy and Shawn Michaelsâ
âI think theyâd like to see that as well, but if you excuse me, I have a decision and an announcement to makeâ William Regal then walks away.
William Regalâs music hits and he comes out, mic in hand, âGood Evening England. It truly feels wonderful to be back home.
And I can promise you a great show this evening. It seems as thought our WWE Champion likes to do things in 3âs, so thatâs exactly what heâs going to get. Tonight Randy Orton will be facing one on one his three possible opponents for Cyber Sunday. Jeff Hardy, Mr. Kennedy and the Heartbreak Kid, Shawn Michaels.
So first up, is this man, a Champion in his own right, the IC Champion, Jeff Hardyâ
Hardyâs music hits and he makes his way to the ring.
JEFF HARDY vs. RANDY ORTON
Orton gets in the ring and holds up his title as the crowd booâs. The bell rings and the men circle the ring. The crowd chants âHardyâ
The pair lock up and Hardy takes Orton down right away. Orton gets up immediately and locks up shoving Hardy into the corner, punching him several times.
Orton whips Hardy across the ring and dives at him. Hardy moves and flips Orton to the mat.
Hardy works on Ortonâs arm. Orton gets to his feet and gets Hardy into the corner. Hardy gets him across the ring into the opposite corner.
Hardy knocks Orton out of the ring then flies outside the ring after Orton.
***COMMERCIAL BREAK***
9:14 â” Back from commercial break with Orton having Hardy in a headlock. Hardy gets to his feet and elbows Orton in the gut.
Orton slams Hardy to the mat and goes for the cover. 2 count. Orton stomps on Hardy several times.
Orton nails Hardy with a knee drop and goes for the cover. 2 count. Orton gets Hardy in another headlock.
Hardy gets to his feet and punches Orton. Orton punches Hardy in the back and knocks him down. Hardy gets up and takes down Orton with a clothesline.
The pair get to their feet and exchange punches. Hardy uses the ropes and takes Orton down with repeated blows to the head.
Hardy hits Whisper in the Wind and goes for the cover. 2 count. Orton catches Hardyâs leg and Hardy kicks Orton back into the corner.
Hardy climbs the ropes and Kennedy runs out but before he can do anything Orton knocks Hardy onto the ropes and Kennedy and Orton stare each other down for a moment.
Orton nails Hardy with an RKO and goes for the cover.
WINNER â” RANDY ORTON
Kennedy stands on the ramp and motions that the belt will be his. Orton holds up his Championship belt and stares down Kennedy.
Orton holds up his belt and makes his way backstage.
***COMMERCIAL BREAK***
9:25 â” Back from commercial break with Santino Marella making his way to the ring with Maria.
Santino grabs a mic, âHello London, itâs so good to be back in Europe, I miss it very much.
The only thing more beautiful than Europe is my Maria. Of course, England is a dull dreary country that canât compare to the beauty of my Italy.
I realize, I think everyone here just finished watching the Condemned, is that the problem?â
Santino is cut off by Val Venisâ music.
SANTINO MARELLO vs. VAL VENIS
The bell rings and Santino runs at Val but Val catches him and starts punching him.
Santino gets Val in the corner and gets him tangled in the ropes, working on his knee. Santino drags Val into the center of the ring and gets him in a submission hold and works on his knee.
Val struggles to get to the ropes, totally overselling the submission hold. Val finally makes it to the ropes and Santino breaks the hold.
Santino kicks Val then slaps him. Santino comes up behind Val and continues to kick Val in the knee. Santino takes Val down and works on his knee.
Val shoves Santino away and takes him down with several clotheslines.
Santino swings at Val and Val catches him. Santino gets free and takes Val down.
Santino sits on Val going for the cover, the ref doesnât see that Santino is holding the ropes and Santino gets the 3 count.
WINNER â” SANTINO MARELLA
They then show an update on the 2007 Diva search.
Backstage Carlito is talking to Coach about small apples. Carlito says, âI guess everything back here is small, just like Hornswaggle, I just want to know, how did he end up beating you with your own cane? That was coolâ
âNo, there was nothing cool about it. I think deep down Vince just wants me to take care of him, I just have to get him in the right place at the right timeâ
Hornswaggle appears behind them and steals Carlitoâs little apple then runs off. Coach chases after him.
***COMMERCIAL BREAK***
9:38 â” Back from commercial break with Coach chasing Hornswaggle backstage. Hornswaggle runs into the cafeteria and runs across the food line and then dives on Coach.
Hornswaggle knocks Coach onto one of the tables then runs off.
They then flashback to Umagaâs interference in the HHH/Orton match.
Backstage Vince is waiting for Regal,
âI wanted to see you, Iâd likeâ¦how old is the Queen really?â
âWhich one?â Regal asks
Vince glances at the picture on the wall, âLet me congratulate you on the matches this evening. But one thing, where is HHHâ
âWell with the drumming HHH took last week from Umagaâ¦â
The then make fun of Umagaâs name and the way Regal says it for a moment, then Vince says heâs got a little demonstration planned shortly and walks out.
Kennedy is shown walking backstage ready for his match with Orton.
***COMMERCIAL BREAK***
9:44 â” Back from commercial break, Ken Kennedy makes his way to the ring.
âWho are you going to vote for at Cyber Sunday? Iâve got a good idea and he hails from Green Bay, WIâ¦.MR. KENNEDYâ¦.KENNEDYâ
KEN KENNEDY vs. RANDY ORTON
Randy walks to the ring, eyeing Kennedy. The bell rings and the pair circle with Kennedy lunging towards Orton. The pair lock up and Kennedy gets Orton in a headlock. Orton struggles to break free and Orton reverses the hold.
Kennedy gets free and scoops Orton into a pin. Orton gets out immediately.
Orton whips Kennedy into the ropes and Kennedy takes Orton down and goes for the cover. 1 count.
Kennedy gets Orton in a headlock. Orton punches his way free and takes Kennedy down.
Orton grabs Kennedy by the head and slams him into the ringpost then punches him. Kennedy punches back and gets out of the corner. Randy goes for a drop kick but Kennedy moves and Orton slams into the mat.
Kennedy goes for a quick cover. 1 count. The pair exchange punches and Orton takes Kennedy down. Orton stomps on Kennedy. Kennedy grabs Ortonâs tights and shoves him into the corner. Kennedy picks up Orton but Orton reverses and hits Kennedy with an inverted back breaker.
Kennedy picks up Orton and slams him to the mat but before he can go for the cover, Hardy takes Kennedy down and hits Kennedy with the Swanton Bomb.
WINNER â” RANDY ORTON via DQ
Randy goes after Hardy and Hardy ducks so Orton goes over the ropes.
***COMMERCIAL BREAK***
9:56 â” Back from commercial break with Vince making his way to the ring. Vince gets in the ring and grabs a mic
âYou know, sometimes I even amaze myself with my own promotional genius. Imagine me coming up with Cyber Sunday.
Letâs face it; Cyber Sunday is a WWE fanâs dream come true. Itâs where you log on to WWE.com where you vote to determine matches, stipulations and outcomes.
And at Cyber Sunday itâll be HHH against this man, Umaga.â
Umaga makes his way to the ring and Vince calls for a ref to come out.
âNow, one of the stipulations you can choose for the HHH/Umaga match is a Street Fight, which means you can beat the holy hell out of your opponent with anything. Quite frankly, itâs a brutal match. And weâre about to have a demonstration, whatâs your name kidâ
âAndy Simmonsâ
âAndy Simmons, wait a minute, you guys cheer him because his name is Andy Simmons or is it because you talk funny? Are you afraid?â
âYeahâ
âYou should be, ring the bellâ
The bell rings.
UMAGE vs. ANDY SIMMONS
Umaga starts beating on Simmons and tosses him outside the ring and starts choking him with the cords.
Umaga goes under the ring but pulls out nothing. Umaga tosses Simmons into the announce table then tears it apart.
Umaga grabs a steel chair and throws it into the ring, then picks up Simmons by his tights and tosses him back into the ring as well.
Umaga grabs the chair and gets it in place, then picks up Simmons and hits the Samoa drop right onto the steel chair and goes for the cover.
WINNER â” UMAGA
âAnd here is your winner, UMAGA!â Vince says. âNot much in the way of competition, Iâll tell you that. Hang on a second. You know thereâs another stipulation these people can chose at Cyber Sunday.
Itâs a First Blood match; itâs simple, where the winner is the first to draw blood. Letâs have another demonstration. Throw him in there and ring the bell.â
Umaga sets up Simmons in the corner and nails Simmons with a head butt. Umaga backs up and runs at Simmons again.
âFinish him offâ Vince says.
Umaga grabs Simmons and nails him with the Samoan spike to the throat repeatedly then throws Simmons to the mat.
âAnd the winner of the First Blood Match, UMAGA!
This kid is hurt, get some medical attention down hereâ Vince calls as they roll Simmons out of the ring.
Vince looks at Simmons âGet him out of here. Get him out of here. That looks nasty. Hang on a second, hang on. There is yet a third option; these people can use a third option in the HHH/Umaga match.
That is a steel cage match. Thatâs easy, the winner is the man who escapes first. Hold it right there, stop it. Umaga, sic himâ Vince said.
Umaga throws Simmons into the ring and the cage lowers. Vince shows the replay of what just happened to Simmons.
Throughout his replay of the events, Vince calls Simmons âTriple Hâ. They open the cage door and let Umaga in and Vince tells Umaga thatâs HHH, get him.
Umaga gets in the cage and tosses Simmons around. Vince insists thatâs not enough, that he wants more.
Umaga picks up Simmons and slams him head first into the steel cage. Vince eggs on Umaga and Umaga picks up Simmons and throws him full force into the steel cage.
Vince has them open the door and Umaga gets out.
âThe winner of the match, UMAGAâ Vince says, âAnd the winner of the match at Cyber Sunday against HHH, Umaga!!â
Vince and Umaga make their way up the ramp.
***COMMERCIAL BREAK***
10:13 â” Back from commercial break with Coach on a bike chasing Hornswaggle on a tricycle by Ron Simmons who just watches it and says, âDamn!â
Jillianâs music hits and she makes her way to the ring and grabs Lillianâs mic.
âBefore my match tonight, I just want to say, Lillian Garcia, your musical performance last week was pathetic. Seriously, everyone hated it. I donât want to be the one to say this, but everyone can tell you were lip-syncing too. It was obvious.â
They then run a clip of Lillian singing.
âOh my gosh, that has got to be the best bunch of fake musicians I have seen. I hate to break this to you after your album is released, but no one understands Spanish.
Lillian, a true singer gets judged on how you sing without a band. Like me. So, tonight I want to sing a song tonight in a language everyone can understand, Britishâ
Jillian breaks into a horrible song but is interrupted by Candice Michelle.
As Candice is getting into the ring Jillian attacks and takes a few cheap shots.
CANDICE MICHELLE vs. JILLIAN
Candice takes Jillian down, then kicks Jillian.
Candice grabs Jillian and hits her with the Unprettier and goes for the cover.
WINNER â” CANDICE MICHELLE
Backstage, the show Beth Phoenix. âNext week Candice Michelle will invoke her rematch clause. Iâm Beth Phoenix, the Glamazon. Next week, youâll watch Candice Michelle get down on her knees because Iâll make herâ
They then show Cody Rhodes in the locker room and Hardcore Holly comes over,
âI hear your challenging me again tonightâ
âI can beat you, I can earn your respectâ
âLet me tell you something kid, Iâve been beating people up since before you were swimming around beneath your Daddyâs polka dots. But if you think you can beat me, letâs seeâ Hardcore Holly then slaps Cody.
Cody glares at him, furious âNow thatâs the look I want to see out thereâ Hardcore Holly says, then walks away.
***COMMERCIAL BREAK***
10:26 â” Back from commercial with Cade and Murdock out for commentary.
BRIAN KENDRICK with Paul London vs. RORY McCALLISTER with Robbie McCallister
Kendrick immediately starts beating on Rory punching him wildly.
Rory head butts Kendrick and gets up and starts stomping on him then goes for the cover. 2 count.
Rory stomps on Kendrick then lands an elbow drop. Kendrick kicks Rory but Rory knocks Kendrick out of the ring.
Kendrick struggles but gets back into the ring and Rory immediately goes for the cover but Kendrick grabs the ropes.
Rory gets Kendrick in a headlock. Kendrick starts punching Rory trying to break free but Rory slams him down on the mat and keeps him in the headlock.
Kendrick gets to his feet and starts punching Rory. Rory whips Kendrick into the corner and when he charges Kendrick kicks Rory.
Robbie distracts Kendrick and Rory takes down Kendrick then picks up Kendrick and slams him down with a reverse Suplex and goes for the cover.
WINNER â” RORY McCALLISTER
Robbie and Rory stare down Cade and Murdock letting them know they want a title shot.
They then go back to No Mercy again and show Randy winning the title and then Shawn Michaels return again.
***COMMERCIAL BREAK***
10:38 â” Back from commercial break with a Shawn Michaels promo.
âHBK has made his return, but that was only the beginning. Randy Orton, every time you turn around Iâll be there. I kicked your teethed own your throat last week and Iâm going to do it again tonight.
Understand this Champ, you canât kill whatâs not your creation. Cyber Sunday after all the fans get done casting their votes, itâs going to be HBK back in the saddle again, Iâm going to kick your teeth down your throat again, but this time itâs going to be for the WWE Championshipâ
More of Coach chasing Hornswaggle around backstage followed by another Save_us.222 promo.
Hornswaggle dives under the ring as Coach runs down the ramp. Coach goes under the ring and pulls out a detonator, planning to blow up the ring. Coach takes off his tie and paces the ring yelling that âIâve had it. You ready little guy?!â
Coach stomps on the ring and pulls up on the detonator then pushes it down, nothing happens. Coach goes to check the connection and crawls under the ring.
Hornswaggle gets out from under the ring, gets in the ring and hits the detonator and it goes off.
Hornswaggle dances around the ring as smoke pours out from under the ring.
Coach gets out from under the ring, smoking and covered in soot.
***COMMERCIAL BREAK***
10:50 â” Back from commercial break with Cody Rhodes making his way to the ring.
CODY RHODES vs. HARCORE HOLLY
The bell rings and the pair lock up. Cody starts punching Holly and takes Holly down hard with a shoulder.
Holly knocks Cody over the ropes but Cody skins the cat. Holly gets Cody in the corner and lands several chops.
Cody gets Holly in the corner and chops him. Holly glares and slaps Cody in the head.
Cody takes Holly down with a cross body and goes for the cover. 1 count.
Holly gets Cody in the ropes and chops him several times then kicks Cody.
Holly flips Cody to the mat and gets him in a headlock. Cody gets to his feet and punches Holly in the stomach.
Holly nails Cody in the head and knocks him to his knees. Holly then gets Cody in the ropes again and kicks him in the gut. Holly picks up Cody and goes for the Alabama slam but Cody reverses and goes for a cover. 1 count.
Cody takes Holly down and goes for another quick cover. 1 count. Cody rolls Holly into yet another cover. 1 count.
Holly whips Cody into the corner and goes after him but Cody moves. Cody takes Holly down for another cover. 1 count.
Holly takes Cody down with an impressive drop kick.
Cody gets Holly in a cover. 2 count.
Holly takes down Cody and goes for the cover.
WINNER â” HARDCORE HOLLY
HBK and Randy Orton are shown walking down their respective hallways to the ring for tonightâs Main Event.

10:59 â” Back from commercial break for the Main Event.
SHAWN MICHAELS vs. RANDY ORTON
Orton gets in the ring and HKB stares him down and attacks as soon as the bell rings.
HBK gets Orton in the corner and just punches the hell out of him. Orton gets out of the ring but HBK follows and tosses Orton back into the ring.
HBK grabs Orton and rolls him up for the cover but Orton gets out right away. HBK goes to whip Orton across the ring but Orton reverses.
HBK takes down Orton and goes for another cover. 1 count. Orton takes HBK down and starts punching him. Orton picks up HBK and sits him on the ropes punching him.
The men fight on the ropes and HBK knocks Orton off the second rope and HBK doves off the top rope and nails Orton with an elbow.
Kennedy gets in the ring and starts beating on HBK
WINNER â” HBK via DQ
Orton holds HBK while Kennedy kicks him. Hardy runs out to help and Orton slams him to the mat. Orton stalks HBK for the RKO but HBK shoves Orton off.
Orton hits Kennedy and knocks him out of the ring. When Orton turns around HBK nails Orton with Sweet Chin Music.
PINK HAIRED PERSPECTIVE
~For a Raw match, I expected better between Santino and Val, but it was just bad. The moves werenât even in sync; this is something you expect at armature hour.
~The womenâs match was just awful. For all the improvement I had been told about with Candice Michelle, you couldnât tell based on that garbage they had tonight. The only good thing I could say was that if you blinked it was over.
~Orton/HBK was really good, itâs a shame it was so short. Michaels did look a bit shaky tonight. I donât know if itâs that he came back to soon, if heâs holding back because heâs worried about his knees or what.
~I really donât think itâs possible for WWE to make it any more obvious that theyâre pushing for Orton/Michaels at Cyber Sunday. They show you the flashbacks so many times the only way you could not know whatâs going on is if you live in a hole.
~And in closing, to all those die hard Orton fans, enjoy this Championship run, itâs been a long time in the making!
