Steve Austin Bashes TNA On WWE.com, Cyber Sunday

WWE.com posted an interesting article today with Stone Cold Steve Austin interviewing actor and former WCW Champion David Arquette. Arquette’s WCW title reign is considered by many to be the epitome of the company’s ineptitude during its final days. As if David Arquette being interviewed on WWE.com isn’t strange enough, Stone Cold actually mentions TNA Wrestling in one of his questions. Austin asked Arquette: Knowing wrestling like you do, being in WCW for a little bit and now seeing the business today with really only WWE around â” youâve got some stuff in TNA but no major stars â” who is your favorite guy going right now? It is very rare that WWE mentions rival promotion TNA Wrestling in any way. Despite what Stone Cold says about TNA, their weekly television show iMPACT! draws ratings that are comparable to ECW on Sci Fi. As far as TNA having no major stars, Austin seems to have a short memory. He dropped the WWE Championship to TNA’s top star Kurt Angle at Unforgiven 2001.

Lena Yada was voted off the Diva Search competition on RAW as the final three participants made their first appearance on the show. This year’s contest took a different direction from the previous years as it was more or less a WWE.com-based contest rather than a weekly segment on WWE television. Brooke Gilbertsen and Eve Torres are the two remaining finalists and the winner will be announced next Monday on RAW. In the meantime, voting is open at WWE.comto elect the winner.
