Chris âThe Authority❠Schultz’s Take on the TNA Impact Show 10/25

TNA decided to start off this week’s Impact on a lighter not with some more Kurt and Karen Angle trying to win over Kevin Nash. These three continue to make me laugh. It didn’t take long for them to develop quite a chemistry with each other. Nash also mentioned his good friends Hall and Pac as still being his boys. Wouldn’t it be nice for just one more run?

The first match of the night certainly had a lot of star power. The Vodoo Kin Mafia teamed up with Tomko and Styles to take on the Steiner Brothers and LAX. AJ Styles and Tomko as the Tag Team Champions is definitely growing on me. To be honest, I didn’t know which team was face and which ones were the heels of the match. The crowd seemed undecided as well. While watching this opening match, I couldn’t help wonder why BG James and Kip James can’t recapture the magic of old they once owned.

Kurt Angle then sent his wife to seduce Nash. This just keeps getting better. Next up was the first Fight for the Right Tournament match up of the night between two TNA originals Eric Young and âTennessee Cowboy❠James Storm. Does anyone know what type of beer Storm drinks? It does not look familiar. Who else also thinks that Vince McMahon could make James Storm a superstar?

Kevin Nash actually turned down Karen Angle? Cold shower indeed! Enter Team 3D and Mike Tenay where the line of the evening came compliments of Brother Ray. âShut up or I swear to God I will punch you in your old face.❠Team 3D are definitely born to be the bad guys. The next match pitted âThe Guru❠Sonjay Dutt vs. Sharkboy vs. Havok vs. Petey Williams. I am still not buying Dutt’s new gimmick. Horrible! It was a good old fashion X Division match until Team 3D came down. Can’t say I was surprised by this after the short clip before the match. Didn’t Nash try to take out everyone in the X-Division? Focus on originality!

Match of the Night: Kurt Angle vs. Sting II

The fans got an early treat for Halloween being able to witness to of the industries best going at it again in a rematch from Bound for Glory. He’s no Michael Buffer, but Jeremy Borash can pull it off when introducing a main event. Was there any doubt this would be a good match? It certainly delivered. Here is a simple wrestling equation. Nash + Angle + Sting = Ratings. Add some Earl Hebner followed by controversy and you have yourself a historic night. Angle beats Sting to become World Champion for the 12th time in his career. I am not a big fan of Sting losing the strap after two weeks.

Worst Match of the Night: Angel Williams vs. Awesome Kong

Immediately following the best match of the night was the biggest waste of time during the show. Not only does Tenay leave us with Don West running solo at the broadcast table, but we have to suffer through a match where Awesome Kong’s opponent stands no chance in hell. This beast of a woman could probably take out half of the X-Division much less the Knockout’s Division in TNA. The Abyss/Black Reign feud is entertaining to say the least. Especially with the rat, and I am not talking about James Mitchell.

Kevin Nash vs. Matt Morgan could be interesting. Did we get a preview tonight? The final match of the night was for the Fight for the Right Tournament. Thank God Christian came down to take Tenay’s spot. There is only so much Don West you can take. Roode must have watched a lot of tape on Curt Henning. I thought I was seeing the Perfect One himself against Junior Fatu. Unfortunately, Roode will not go on in the tournament, but he will be looking for revenge on Samoa Joe. Finally, Robert Roode is getting the push he deserves. The Samoa Joe/Robert Roode feud could be very good if done right. TNA has a star in the making. Keep it up!

Kurt Angle had me laughing again while peeling out of the parking lot leaving his wife behind to handle a pissed off Kevin Nash. Leave it to the Olympic Gold Medalist to be a hero. Looks like Genesis will be a tag team match for the TNA World Heavyweight Title. I am not a fan of a tag team match deciding the champ, but I am looking forward to who Sting will pick for his partner. I personally would love to see Jarrett back. Overall, the show was entertaining, but nothing real special. I would give it a grade of B-. Until next week.
