TNA Impact Review 11/29/2007

The theme of the night centered around the âCoalition/Alliance Summitâ. Tonight, marked the first time that Tomko and Styles confronted their old boss Christian Cage. The show opened with Cage playing his classic mind games on Robert Roode. These two athletes are among the best heels in the business today.

The show kicked off with Booker T and Sharmell, the two newest faces in TNA. Does anyone agree that Bookerâs hair is getting too long? On top of that, did anyone know that Booker T was writing a book? The former World Champion did pull off an excellent promo though and really got into it. Roode came out to spoil the party and if you heard what he said, there might be some truth to it. Every time a new WWE star arrives in TNA, someone takes a backseat. Ohh, but itâs true! Roode and Booker really had me pumped up about their match scheduled for later in the night. Neither of them backed down. Is it just me, or does anyone really understand the whole Christy Hemme, Jimmy Rave, Lance Hoyt angle?

The first match of the night involved Gail Kim teaming up with Eric Young to take on The Rock N Rave Infection (Rave & Hemme)? Where do they come up with these names? I couldnât stop looking at Gail Kimâs ring attire. Letâs just say, Sir Mix A Lot said it best, âBaby got back!❠Jimmy Rave can wrestle, thatâs for sure, but he could use some more trips to the gym. Why canât Hoyt fly solo? First Kid Kash, then VKM, now the Rock N Rave Infection?

James Storm has his own beer line? In the 2nd Annual (hasnât even been a month) Drinking Contest, Eric Young won again spilling and wasting even more beer than he did the first time. I love the drinking contests, but I am glad that the fight started with Storm smashing the bottle over Youngâs skull. I couldnât believe the amount of blood that was pouring from Eric Youngâs head after being hit. Storm kept the beat down going to add insult to injury and start a feud that I think all fans will enjoy.

Black Machismo teamed up with Sonjay Dutt to take on Team 3D in the second match of the night. I love Machismoâs entrance music. A match that involves heavyweights mixed with cruiserweights usually has its fill of high spots and that definitely was the case in this match up. Team 3D deserves great respect for continuously putting over the younger stars in TNA. No tag team ever looked better getting their butts kicked. It makes me wonder too, has there ever been another tag team that is so easy to hate? Johnny Devine, just watch and learn from the best.

Next up was Rellik vs. Rhino. Has anyone ever visited the Depths of Hell? You know. Rellikâs home town? I canât even begin to imagine how hot he is under that mask. I really am looking forward to the match of 10,000 tacks at Turning Point this Sunday. Will Rhino ever get another title run? I have to admit, I still love the Black Reign character, however, Abyss is the original monster of TNA!

The line of the night was delivered by Tomko when he told Christian âyou told me not to think.❠I smell and Angle/Christian feud brewing. The summit finally took place minus Kurt Angle. I was really hoping that he would be there. Cage is really turning into a badass. I think I am starting to like his new attitude.

It was now time for Rood vs. Booker T. This was my match of the night even though it was short lived. Booker has come a long way since Harlem Heat. I will go out on a limb here and say that Robert Roode will one day become World Heavyweight Champion. This was a great match as I had expected. Christian was all over the place tonight and even got involved in this match. Antonio Banderas, I mean Kaz, saved the day.

Scott Steinerâs bicep was larger than Crystalâs head. Man, this guy is HUGE! He teamed up with Samoa Joe, Abyss, and Kaz in the main event to take on Kurt Angle, AJ Styles, Tomko, and Christian. Definitely a star studded main event with 5 former World Champions in the ring. The Angle Alliance has a lot of hardware of their own. I have to mention, I did see less of Kurt Angle throughout the show, which is a step in the right direction. Not that I donât like Angle, you just canât overdo it. What is Scott Hallâs obsession with ICP? Yet another Insane Clown Posse shirt that read JWO. (Juggalo World Order I presume). AJ Styles keeps me laughing every show and the best of the night was when he accidentally flipped into the ring because he was so excited. Does Big Poppa Pump have another title run left in him? I think so. I believe everyone executed their finisher with Styles costing his former boss, Christian, the win. Nash and Hall came out for a little air time themselves.

Overall, the show was very good. It definitely entertained us and helped lead up to the PPV this Sunday. There were even some better matches on Impact than whatâs on the card for Turning Point. I give the show a solid A.
