More On The Nasty Boys WWE Debacle, WWE Crew In Iraq

While the Nasty Boys tryout a few weeks ago went over well with the crowd, it didn’t go over too well with officials backstage. They were criticized for playing to the crowd a bit too much and delaying the start of SmackDown, not to mention that the feeling was that they worked too stiff on their opponents – Dave Taylor and Drew McIntyre. However, leaving the ring crew about five minutes to get the ring ready for that night’s ECW live episode wasn’t entirely their fault because one of the Major Brothers bled hardway during a match later in the show and the crew had to clean up the ring because they didn’t want subsequent guys to be wrestling on blood spots in the ring. Also, the Vickie Guerrero angle later in the show went a bit too long because backstage personnel had to carry her out in a stretcher before the ring crew could make their adjustments. When it was all said and done, it was 9:55 p.m, leaving them five minutes to do so, but they managed to get everything ready on time.

The annual Tribute to the Troops trip is being held this week. As a matter of fact, the WWE crew already took off from the Charleston Air Force Base for the annual trip. That was one of the reasons JBL was at RAW. Michael Cole has posted an audio report on WWE.com regarding this. Another person going on the trip is Mickie James. James has volunteered to chronicle her entire Tribute to the Troops experience in a blog on WWE.com.

Ken Kennedy recently spoke out in an interview with Mike Mooneyham over his streak of bad luck that has held him back from a tremendous push in WWE. Kennedy told Mooneyham that JBL once told him that he had his bad luck. Kennedy commented, “I was building up some steam and momentum (in late 2005), and then I tore my lat (latissimus dorsi muscle) and was out for six months,” says Kennedy, “Then I came back and built up all sorts of steam and momentum, won the Money in the Bank at this year’s Wrestlemania and tore my triceps. They told me I was going to be out for seven months, but it turned out to be only a slight tear, and I was only out for a few months. But they took the Money in the Bank off me and put the title on Edge.”
