The Atlanta Journal-Constitution has a new article online today looking at the drug problems suffered in professional wrestling leading to several untimely deaths. The piece features a quote from Lex Luger who refers to himself as “one of the biggest cheaters everâ<80> as he explains how he beat drug tests when he was a top star in the wrestling industry. Rick Steiner is quoted in the piece, as it lists him as a former professional wrestler where he says “With all that added revenue and demand, the pressure just increasedâ<80>¦ Either you knew how to handle it or you didn’t. And you compensated one way or the other.” The article goes on to mention the latest death in professional wrestling, Brian â<80><9c>Crushâ<80> Adams.

Also in todayâ<80><99>s Atlanta Journal-Constitution is an article on yesterdayâ<80><99>s hearing in Georgia where the State delayed regulations proposed on professional wrestling regulations in wake of industry opposition. WWE representative, John Traylor commented, “It’s good they listened to people who know the business. These rules they proposed are ridiculous.” You can read the full article at this

At Armageddon on Sunday night, Jeff Hardy got an upset win over Triple H for the number one contender’s spot. At the moment, he is technically scheduled to wrestle Randy Orton for the WWE Title at the Royal Rumble. However, one WWE source is saying that that he would be surprised if Hardy lasted much longer with his number one contendership.

The USA Network purchased the rights to â<80><9c>The Game Planâ<80> starring Dwayne â<80><9c>The Rockâ<80> Johnson. Look for the network to cross-promote their airings of the film with WWE RAW.

WWE is attempting protest their intellectual properties after a toy line called â<80><9c>Wrestle Maniaâ<80> which has nothing to do with WWE or their licensee Jakks Pacific, were among unsafe toys recalled by New York Governor Elliot Spitzer. When reached for comment WWE spokesman Gary Davis said, “We need to find out how this came about. We take pride in providing quality products, safe for family use.”
