News On Backlash, Kofi Kingston/ECW, Another Release

As noted last night here on the site, TNA taped Abyss vs. Judas Mesias in a no ropes Barbed Wire Massacre match at the iMPACT tapings last night in Orlando, Florida to air on the upcoming Against All Odds pay-per-view. Abyss was victorious in the bout. The Athletic Commission in South Carolina would not sanction the match in their state so TNA was forced to tape it at the TVs last night. This was TNAâs second-ever no ropes Barbed Wire Massacre match as the first occurred at TNA Turning Point back in 2005 where Sabu was victorious against Abyss.

It was recently reported that former WWE tag team wrestler Luke Williams (of Bushwhacker fame) had parted ways with IWA in Puerto Rico. Williams worked several years for the struggling Puertan Rican promotion as a booker. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, it appears Williams accidentally called Savoldi, the man now running the promotion, and left a message complaining about how Savoldi is making the wrong decisions and doesn’t understand the company’s fan base. Williams thought he had called Savio Vega’s number, but apparently he dialed Savoldi’s number by accident. When Savoldi heard the message, he fired Williams.
