TNA Thrilled With NYC Shows, ROH/TNA, & Loads More

According to prowrestling.NET, TNA officials are said to be extremely pleased with their first house show tour of New York. Company officials are touting the fact that they sold-out the 3,000-seat Webster Hall on Friday and had strong ticket sales heading into Saturdayâs Westbury event in a venue that seats roughly 5,500 people. The word floating around internally is that they topped $100,000 at the gate on Friday, which is nothing short of a home run for the company. They also sold out an 800 person venue on Thursday night.

Ring of Honor posted a storyline-related statement regarding the angle that heel manager Larry Sweeney did on Saturday nightâs show in Manhattan where Sweeney knocked Allison Danger out of the ring and encouraged Bobby Dempsey to take advantage of her. Here is the statement on ROHâs message board: “ROH officials are embarrassed and apologetic over the actions of Larry Sweeney last Saturday at the Manhattan Center.”

As noted in our show results, Kevin Steen won the one-night tournament at ROHâs Deer Park, New York show on Friday night to earn a shot at the ROH Championship. He will get his title shot against Nigel McGuiness at the April 12th show in Edison, New Jersey.

Alex Shelley & Chris Cabin (The Motor City Machineguns) will face Jay & Mark Briscoe at the April 19th Ring of Show in Chicago Ridge, Illinois. As noted earlier, they are confirmed for the show the night before in Detroit, Michigan although their opponents have yet to be named.
