  • Mediaweek has an article on SmackDownâ<80><99>s move to MyNetwork TV.
  • John Cena had some strong words for Dwayne â<80><9c>The Rockâ<80> Johnson in a recent interview with The Sun out of the United Kingdom. Cena said, “He is a genuinely nice guy and a fantastic human being. “What I kind of get peeved about, and this is my Achilles heel, is that I’ve wanted to do this my whole life. “Rock falls into that category. At one point he loved wrestling and wanted to do this all his life. “So explain to me why he can’t come back. “Simply put it’s because he wants to be an actor and there’s nothing wrong with that. He’s very good and very successful. Associating with sports entertainment doesn’t do much for his acting career. I get it. “Just don’t f*** me around and tell me that you love this. “That’s the only thing that gets me really p***ed off.” You can download Cenaâ<80><99>s full comments in The Sunâ<80><99>s WrestleCast and read more about the interview at
  • I thought it’s interesting to note, that Russian TV Channel NTV in their evening news edition mentioned about Mayweather – Big Show confrontation and upcoming match at Wrestlemania, even showing some pictures from No Way Out. Also, many Russian and Ukrainian sports websites mentioned about Mayweather Jr. stepping into a “Wrestling Ring”, and calling this as a “circus” – Myles from Kiev, Ukraine
  • The Orlando Sentinel has a story about how the city got its hands on WrestleMania thanks to a visit to WWE Headquarters in Stamford, CT., from John Saboor, president of the sports commission and Mayor Buddy Dyer. Fighting against Atlantic City and Las Vegas, the team from Orlando knew they had an uphill battle to bring the event to their city. The two traveled together to present their bid in person to WWE Chairman Vince McMahon, CEO Linda McMahon and other executives. It’s very rare for WWE to have someone there in person and a first that a city mayor joined the party. The WWE officials were given a silver binder engraved with ‘WrestleMania 2008 Orlando’ on it and a tag line underneath, which read “We’ve got two words for you…Choose Orlando”!
