As noted earlier here on the site, Shane McMahon, who previously was only involved in WWE’s “new media” projects, has taken a more active role in the creative process in recent weeks. Shane has been sitting in on meetings and throwing out a bunch of suggestions. Shane has been credited for putting the Floyd Mayweather deal together. Shane is also said to be responsible for the recent South American tour and has been pushing to get the company into China, a market where he sees tremendous growth potential. With Stephanie McMahon’s pregnancy and upcoming maternity leave, Shane could see an opening to take on more responsibilities in her absence. Whether he follows through with Stephanie’s agenda or takes things in a new direction will be interesting to follow.
