TNA Impact Review March 13th

By: Chris â<80><9c>The Authorityâ<80> Schultz

Each and every week, I give my views and opinions on TNA’s Impact broadcast. Mostly, I critique the story lines, the wrestlers, and the booking committee. However, I would like to start this review by talking about the guys in the truck. That’s right, the first kudos of the night goes to the production crew. The intro package that aired before the show gave me goosebumps. To be honest, David Sahidi and everyone else involved do a damn good job of hyping the shows. Whether they deliver or not is another story. I hope this continues and look forward to even better production once TNA increases its revenue.

TNA also seems to do a better job of promoting the next big PPV earlier by putting together part of the card on the very first show. This allows them to really build up the rivalries and feuds, which in turn should help the PPV buy rate. It doesn’t get any bigger than Samoa Joe vs. Kurt Angle in a steel cage. I’m not really sure about keeping Samoa Joe out of the ring for the weeks leading up to Lockdown, but as I mentioned earlier, I have faith in the production crew to help build the anticipation.

Another positive is the fact they are now giving Tomko the chance to really step his game up to the next level. I really believe that over time, Tomko will grow into one of the best big men this industry has seen. It will take some time, but this is a great start. I wonder how the teams will shape up leading up to Team Tomko vs. Team Cage match at Lockdown. Hopefully, some good surprises are lined up.

We are still waiting for Steiner to give us an idea as to when he will cash in his briefcases to go after another title in TNA. I don’t hate the Maple Leaf Muscle storyline, but it’s hard to imagine this working out. Only time will tell. I am a fan of Big Poppa Pump’s newest freak. It won’t be long before she gets into the mix with the other TNA Knockouts.

Did anyone else agree with Team 3D when Brother Ray had some words for Jim Cornette? Somebody’s starting to listen. It might be time to split up the Motor City Machineguns. It’s already getting stale and I would hate for it to ruin such great athlete’s careers. Both should go back to singles wrestling. How many more freaking times is Tenay and West going to tell us that Rellik is Killer backwards? Really? You don’t say!

First Sharkboy, then Curry Man, and now Super Eric? Enough is enough! I hate to say it Eric Young, but this will only get you over with the kids. It’s hard to see a guy with so much talent play such a ridiculous role. I was really hoping this was just a one time appearance at Destination X, but now it looks like we may all have to suffer through this stupid gimmick for a while.

Kaz and Angle had a good match, but this didn’t surprise me. Both guys are great wrestlers and I really enjoyed their first encounter where Kaz took The Champ to the limit. By the way Kurt, be careful what you wish for. I for one, would never kick Karen to the curb. What a hottie! Looks like we are still gearing up for an AJ Styles/Kurt Angle feud. I can’t wait!

The Rock N Rave Infection. How do they continue to see airtime? I think annoying is the word. My advice, end it now. Nobody wants to see an LAX/RNR Infection rivalry. It’s not good for business. LAX is ready for some gold around their waist again. By the way, what happened to the TNA Tag Team Division? It went from being so strong to scarce.

The ladies of TNA continue to impress night in and night out. These knockouts are more over than most of the men, but who is the number one contender? You have Gail Kim, ODB, and Angelina Love as possible threats to Awesome Kong’s title. Who will get the job done?

Christian Cage is a site for sore eyes sometimes. Whenever this veteran of the business gets on the television screen, you can’t help but watch. Vince, how could you have let this one slip away? What a great ending to the show. Team 3D is back where they belong. Working on Nash’s knee with the chair was awesome. To top that off, a reality star gets his ass handed to him by Brother Ray and Brother Devon. I think this company is finally coming around. Bravo! I had a great time watching this 2 hour show. It’s been a while since I could say this. I’m already looking forward till next Thursday. Are you?
