Shamrock vs. UFC, Helms Note, WWE Wants A Chinese Giant

WWE hall of famer Verne Gagne, who is almost 82 years old, will miss the 5/2 Legends of the Ring autograph show in Cataret, NJ due to an undisclosed operation.

Gregory Helms wrote the following on his MySpace: “April 20th and 26th, I will be participating in two motorcycle rally’s this month in North Carolina. The first is a Child Abuse Prevention Rally and the second is for the House of Hope, a Christian, non-denominational, therapeutic school, home and counseling center for hurting and troubled girls.”

Ken Shamrock filed a lawsuit against Zuffa, LLC, on 4/15 in Clark County, Nevada. Zuffa is the parent company of UFC. Shamrock is seeking more than $10,000 in damages, claiming the UFC backed out of a second fight with Tito Ortiz promised to him under his contract with the MMA group. Shamrock is a member of UFC’s Hall of Fame.

The WWE is now starting an international scouting hunt for a Chinese Giant. In essence, the WWE is looking to find a “Yao Ming” of wrestling. They are searching for a Chinese athlete that could be molded into a big international star in the U.S. and in China. The Chinese market is pretty much untapped, so WWE officials feel that by finding a Chinese Giant, it could create a superstar, just as the NBA has done with Ming. WWE agents will be especially watching the Beijing Olympics to see if they can find their “Giant”.
