Backstage Update On Michael Hayes, Latest On Raw/ECW Merger

According to sources backstage, Michael Hayes has taken an “all business” approach since returning from his 60-day suspension, reports ProWrestling.net. After using a racial slur during a conversation with Mark Henry and being suspended as a result, the WWE took away his Senior Vice President position, kept him as lead writer on Smackdown, but also made clear they wouldn’t tolerate his drinking. He apparently looks “healthier” and his eyes are clearer as it was reported he was taking medication called Antabuse, which makes you vomit and very ill if you consume any alcohol.

Despite some sources claiming that the Raw/ECW merger has been called off, PWInsider.com reports today that the December 1st taping is being advertised as a Raw/ECW show in Washington, DC. Fliers promoting the event were handed out last night and they listed both Raw and ECW. With their yearly visit to the military in the Middle East taking place around that time, it could simply be WWE combining tapings prior to the tour. It could mean too that they are still considering the merger between the two shows. Quite frankly, the “on again, off again” situation is giving me a headache.
