8/24 Raw House Show Report From Bethlehem, PA

Thanks to WZ.com reader John Lavelle for the following:

(I might have the order of a couple matches wrong. My apologies if so.)

We start out with Tony Chimel welcoming us, pledge of allegiance, etc. He then announces that the main event will be CM Punk vs JBL for the title, and the usual texting thing to choose the match type. Our choices this time around were Falls Count Anywhere, Best 2 Out of 3 Falls, or No DQ. Then we’re introduced to the first match of the night.

Primo Colon defeated William Regal with a backslide pin

If you ask me Colon was pretty boring in the ring…here’s hoping he gets better.

We’re then introduced to Kelly Kelly who’s standing up by the cheap seats. She asks a kid a simple trivia question (location of WMXIV). He gets it right, and Kelly gives him front row tickets. Onto the next match.

Lance Cade defeated D’lo Brown with his sitout side slam spinebuster

Nothing too special here.

Jamie Noble defeated Snitsky with a sleeper hold.

Yeah…this was pretty surprising. Post match Noble gets booted in the face and Snitsky leaves.

Beth Phoenix defeated Mickie James to retain her Women’s Championship.

Clean victory, Beth wins with the Glam Slam (her facebuster finisher).

Team Priceless defeated Cryme Tyme to retain the World Tag Team Championships.

Before the match Priceless calls Cryme Tyme a bunch of thieves and heckles the audience for supporting their actions. Cryme Tyme hits the ring and the match starts. There was a funny spot where Cody bitchslapped JTG then immediately got chased out of the ring. JTG then gets beat up for pretty much the entire match until Shad is tagged in. Shad had Ted pinned while the ref’s back was turned, so Cody hits a diving elbow drop on Shad’s head. Ted then gets the pin. Post match Cryme Tyme attacks Priceless and takes off with the belts again. Crowd loved it.

Intermission

Kelly Kelly is back and picks a little boy to be the bellringer for this match.

Santino Marella (accompanied by Beth Phoenix) defeated Kofi Kingston to retain his Intercontinental Championship

Before the match Santino does another funny promo where he says he saved the day at Summerslam. Beth looked pissed. He then goes on to say he has a new finisher (I believe it’s called the Marella Clutch), and it will be the most devastating move in professional wrestling history. Santino gets the win with a rollup after Beth distracts Kofi. No sign of the Marella Clutch during the match.

John Cena and Batista defeated Chris Jericho and Kane

Typical Jericho promo about it being our our faults for what happened to Shawn and his wife. Great stuff. Kane came out, his new theme does indeed kick ass. Cena came out and the crowd was crazy. I wasn’t even going to bother a Cena Sucks chant over all the noise they were making. Batista got a good pop too. Cena pins Kane after an FU.

Chimel comes out and thanks us all for coming. JBL comes out and delivers a GREAT heel promo where he tears apart Bethlehem and the fans. Punk enters and gets a really good pop (Not as good as Cena though). Chimel announces the match will be no DQ.

CM Punk defeated JBL with a GTS

Pretty good match. Weapons used include a microphone, trash can, trash lid, nightstick, baking pan, and a chair.
