TNA Superstar AJ Styles was scheduled to travel with The Motor City Machine Guns to Mexico for the CMLL “Super Viernes” event on August 29, but had to be canceled last minute by TNA and be replaced by Sonjay Dutt. Due to his busy TNA schedule, Styles had been delaying surgery to remove several impacted wisdom teeth. In a recent match with Samoa Joe he was kicked in the mouth which exacerbated the situation as infection set in, leading to intense pain. Styles had the teeth removed Tuesday, 9-2-08, and should miss no further events, but has been replaced by Dutt again on the CMLL 75th Anniversry Show on September 16 at Arena Mexico.
The TNA team of Dutt & the Machine Guns defeated Ultimo Guerrero, Atlantis, & Negro Casas on August 29, giving Team TNA two straight victories over CMLL teams in Mexico. On September 16, Dutt and the Machine Guns again face Ultimo Guerrero, Atlantis & Negro Casas with the CMLL Trios Title on the line.
