Fans can enjoy traditional wrestling; tickets on sale now

HOT SPRINGS, AR. – Wrestling fans in the Hot Springs, Arkansas area will get the opportunity to enjoy top notch professional wrestling on Saturday night, November 1.

The event, which will be held at the Hot Springs High School Gym in Hot Springs, will be entitled “November Knockdown” with 6 action-packed matches scheduled. The main event will feature wrestling legend General Skandor Akbar’s return to Hot Springs for the first time in years to manage former PCW World Champion “Big” Tim Storm as he squares of against the reigning Mid States Wrestling International Champion and former WCW star The Atomic Dogg.

“Hot Springs was always a great stop for me back the in the 80’s,” said General Skandor Akbar, wrestling legend and 30-year veteran of sports entertainment.

Saturdayâs show will be a fundraiser for the Hot Springs Band Parents Association. All the money brought in for the event will go to help kids buy instruments and other necessary items that the Hot Springs High School Band needs. The organizationâs goal is to raise money for a good cause while bringing good old-fashioned family-oriented pro wrestling back to Hot Springs.

“Weâre really looking forward to the event,” said event organizer Tom Simon. “Raising fund for the band and bringing quality wrestling to town is like killing two birds with one stone.”

Fans are encouraged to get tickets in advance. Ticket prices are $20, $15 and $10 in advance and can be purchased at Hot Springs High School and Hog Springs Middle School.

The event will also have involvement by many staff members as Tom Simon, a staff member at the school, will be refereeing many of the matches on the card and several of the coaches and teachers will participate in the first ever “Faculty Lumberjack Match” which will put Frankie “Too Fine” Valentine against “The New Age Superstar” Gary Gram. The Mid-South Tag Team Title will be defended by Reckage & Romance (Matt Riviera & Jeff Jett) and there will also be a grudge match with “Bruiser” Rick Sweetan (with Boyd Bradford) facing off against Mark Johnson.

“Weâre going to give the kids something to remember for a long time,” said Simon.
