The Wrestling Observer obtained a letter from Oversight Committee Chairman Henry Waxman to Dr. John Walters, Director of the Office of the National Drug Control Policy. Waxman, who began investigating drug testing practices in professional wrestling after the June 2007 Benoit killings, is requesting Waltersâ office look into it further as he leaves his current position to head the Energy and Commerce Committee. World Wrestling Entertainmentâs RAW/ECW crew will be in Lake Charles, LA, at the Lake Charles Civic Center, tonight. Advertised: John Cena defends the WWE World Heavyweight Title against Randy Orton; Shawn Michaels & Rey Mysterio versus Mike Knox & Kane; and Matt Hardy defends the WWE ECW Heavyweight Title against Jack Swagger. Also on the bill: CM Punk, Kofi Kingston, William Regal, Layla, Cryme Tyme, John Morrison, the Miz, Mark Henry, Tony Atlas, Beth Phoenix, Santino Marella, the Boogeyman, Ricky Ortiz, and Melina. Bell time is 7:00 PM.

WWEâs SmackDown crew will be in Tyler, TX, at the Oil Palace tonight. Advertised: the Undertaker versus the Big Show in a cage match. It is also advertised that Matt Hardy will defends the WWE ECW Heavyweight Title against Mark Henry in an extreme rules match, but with ECW not being on this card, and Hardy billed in Lake Charles, this match is obviously not taking place. Bell time is 7:30 PM.

WWE results from the RAW/ECW house show at the Bank Atlantic Center in Fort Lauderdale, FL, on January 2: Kofi Kingston over Dolph Ziggler; John Morrison & the Miz over Cryme Tyme to retain the WWE World Tag Team Title; William Regal over CM Punk, with an assist from Layla, to retain the WWE Inter-Continental Heavyweight Title; Beth Phoenix over Melina; Mike Knox & Kane over Shawn Michaels & Rey Mysterio; and John Cena over Randy Orton to retain the WWE World Heavyweight Title.

North Georgia Champion Chris King defeated Dustin Michaels by DQ. John Carnage defeated B.J. Hancock. Jacob Ashworth revealed that he cancelled the plane ticket for J.T. Talent’s secret admirer and refuses to release the funds for the ticket until Talent resumes active wrestling for APW. Talent agreed to compete later in the evening in order to get the plane ticket funding approved for next week’s show. Anthony Henry & Brandon Parker defeated The Franchise when 1/2 of APW Tag Team Champions Strictnyn attacked Ryan Michaels. Don Matthews defeated Adryan Hawkins. J.T. Talent defeated Taco Delgado. Seth Delay defeated Skirra Corvus and Billy Buck to become Southern States Champion in a 3-way elimination match. United States Wrestling Organization results from the Stadium Inn in Nashville, TN, on January 2 with a reported 103 in attendance: Chris Norte beat Traken Mathias and Travis Starr and Steven Green and Convict Clown in a 5-way when Norte pinned Mathias. USWO Jr. Champion Jason Xavier beat Lee Cross. Damien Payne & Josh Crowe beat Psycho Medic & Shawn Hoodrich when Payne pinned Hoodrich. Steven Green beat Traken Mathias. USWO Tag Team Champions Saint & Tim Renesto beat Shane Eden & Derrick Neal when Saint pinned Eden. Mitch Ryder beat Michael Jablonski in a 2/3 fall match to win the USWO Championship. L.T. Falk beat Jeremiah Plunkett in a “loser leaves USWO” match. Falk also worked twice at the Showtime All-Star Wrestling taping across town, losing to Derrick King and teaming with Drew Haskins in losing to Chris Michaels & Sean Casey. Michaels was announced as appearing at the USWO/ATL event tonight.

The Reptiles were known for entering the ring with several snakes wrapped around their torsos. The Fabulous Moolah had been billed as Womenâs World Champion since she defeated Judy Grable on September 18, 1956, in Baltimore, MD.
