Florida Championship Wrestling Taping Results From 1/15/09

The following results, courtesy of PWInsider.com, are from this past Thursday night’s edition of Florida Championship Wrestling:

We start off at last week’s Heavyweight Title match which saw Eric Escobar become the new FCW Champion.

Your announcers are Dusty ‘At the pay window, they pay you with Shamwow’ Rhodes and Josh ‘I am not Seth Green’ Mathews and they are standing at ringside as they run through tonight’s show.

Match Number One: Sheamus O’Shaunessy versus Kafu

Sheamus tries to attack Kafu as the bell rings, but Kafu moves out of the way and he chops and kicks Sheamus. Kafu with a kick to the chest but Sheamus with a clothesline and then he punches Kafu while the referee warns him. Sheamus chokes Kafu in the ropes and then connects with a forearm to the back and a kick to the head. Sheamus with a forearm to the chest with Kafu hanging over the apron. Kafu with a kick but Sheamus responds with a kick and then he hits a suplex. Sheamus with a cross face and arm bar. Sheamus with a knee to the midsection followed by a knee drop for a near fall. Sheamus chokes Kafu with his boot followed by a snap mare and rear chin lock. Kafu with chops to the head but Sheamus with another knee. Kafu with punches and chops to Sheamus. Kafu misses a spin kick but Sheamus does not miss with a bicycle kick. Sheamus with the Fiery Red Hand for the three count.

Winner: Sheamus O’Shaunessy

The new FCW Champion Eric Escobar comes to the ring and he is going to address the crowd. He says that it feels great to be standing in front of everyone as the Florida Heavyweight Champion. He says that he is not going to lie and say that it is not hard to be champion. It takes a lot of dedication and dealing with certain people. He says that he does not care who he has to defend the title against.

Byron Saxton comes out and congratulates Eric and says that he is proud to call him champion. On behalf of the Conglomerate, he wants to let Eric know how proud they are. Saxton points out Escobar’s open challenge and he says that he knows someone who wants a shot. That person is Black Pain and he comes to the ring.

Black Pain and Escobar exchange punches and then Black Pain hits a splash onto Escobar.

Black Pain gets on the mic and he starts to speak in Spanish and apparently he is challenging Escobar next week.

Match Number Two: Rosa Mendez versus Angela in a Queen of FCW Tournament Match

Angela slaps Rosa and then Rosa tries for a cross body but Angela with a matrix move to avoid it and they go outside to the floor. Rosa sends Angela into the apron and then they return to the ring. Rosa slams Angela’s head into the mat and other body parts hit the mat as well. Rosa chokes Angela in the ropes and then she connects with an elbow drop to the back. Rosa works on Angela’s back but Angela with an elbow. Rosa with a kick to the midsection followed by a drop toe hold and a version of a surfboard as she stretches Angela. Rosa with a knee to the midsection and Rosa with a sunset flip but Angela rolls through with a drop kick. Rosa misses a clothesline and Angela with an arm drag. Angela tries for a drop kick but it misses the mark. Angela with a head scissors but Angela charges at Rosa but Rosa with a knee to the solar plexus. Rosa with a cover using the ropes but the referee stops the count when he sees Rosa on the ropes. Angela with a schoolgirl for a near fall. Angela with an inverted DDT for the three count.

Winner: Angela

We go to the brackets where we see that Angela’s victory over Rosa Mendes (no, they spelled it a different way than the graphic before the match) will put Angela in the second round to face the winner of the match between Saylor James and Girl from Mexico. On the bottom half of the bracket, Alicia Fox and Jenny Cash will square off in one match while Wesley Holliday will take on Tiffany in the other first round match.

We are told that Goldust will be on FCW next week and Dusty talks about how he knows something about Goldust and looks forward to seeing him next week.

Hade Vansen gets on the mic and he says that you will see a lot of young bucks who have talent, but who cares. What does any of that matter when you are without a shadow of doubt the most vicious. He tells Eric Escobar that he is the number one guy in town. He tells the champ to live it up but the inside scoop is that winning that championship is the worst thing that could happen to him.

Match Number Three: Hade Vansen versus Lupe Santiago

Vansen attacks Santiago before the bell rings and then he connects with a European uppercut and then he chokes Santiago on the top rope. Vansen with a back elbow for a near fall. Vansen with a reverse chin lock but Santiago with punches . Vansen with a clothesline but Santiago punches Vansen to try to stop his momentum. Vansen throws Santiago to the mat. Vanse with a waist lock and Santiago blocks a German suplex. A series of standing switches and Santiago hits a drop kick. Vansen misses a charge into the corner and then he hits a Stinger Splash and a flying burrito for a two count. Santiago with a short arm clothesline but Vansen gets his foot on the ropes. Santiago tries for Crossing the Border but Vansen counters and hits the Impaler DDT for the three count.

Winner: Hade Vansen

It is time for a video package about Johnny Prime and the Conglomerate.

Dusty and Josh talk about how they have a new broadcast colleague and it is Scotty Goldman. It is time for Hanging with Scotty Goldman. Scotty says that he is not allowed in the women’s locker room but there is a girl from Mexico he wants to hang out with. Scott tries to walk in but he is quickly told to leave. The Girl from Mexico comes out and Scotty says that he wants to hang out with her. He tells her that it is her time to talk to the camera. She is very shy and only says si to whatever Scotty asks her.

Match Number Four: Jon Cutler versus Alex Riley (or if you follow the graphics it is Jon Cutler versus Jon Cutler)

Cutler moves out of the way when Riley wants to lock up and that frustrates Riley. Riley with a waist lock and take down into a front face lock. Cutler escapes and puts Riley in a hammer lock and connects with a forearm to the back. Riley with an elbow and a wrist lock and side head lock. Riley blocks a hip toss and hits one of his own. Riley with a corkscrew forearm as he comes off the opposite ropes. Riley goes to the apron and Cutler trips Riley on the apron. They return to the ring and Riley with a punch but Cutler with a knee and punches. Riley with a sunset flip for a two count. Cutler with forearms to the back and a rear chin lock. Cutler with a punch to the solar plexus but he misses a few elbows. Riley tries for a cross body but Cutler drops down to avoid it. Cutler with a fallaway slam for a two count. Cutler works on the back but Riley with a corkscrew elbow and a double sledge. Riley with a back body drop and then he hits a leaping elbow drop for a two count. Riley tries for a slam but Cutler with a kick to the back. Riley with a belly-to-back set up into a uranage for the three count.

Winner: Alex Riley

Match Number Five: TJ Wilson and DH Smith versus Tyler Reks and Johnny Curtis

Wilson and Reks start things off and Wilson with a waist lock but Reks with a take down and Wilson with a head scissors but Reks gets out of the hold. Wilson with a kick and side head lock but Wilson holds on to the hair. Reks with a shoulder tackle and then Curtis is tagged in and he clotheslines Wilson for a near fall. Curtis works on the arm and he hits a fireman’s carry before tagging in Reks who hits a leg drop onto the arm. Reks with a wrist lock and Irish whip into a slam. Curtis tags in and hits a slingshot leg drop for a near fall. Curtis drops Wilson onto the top rope and then he clotheslines Wilson over the top rope to the floor. Smith checks on Wilson and then Reks and Curtis hit stereo pescados. Curtis tries for a baseball slide on Wilson but Wilson moves out of the way. Smith is there and he runs Curtis into the guardrail.

Smith tags in and he hits a series of elbow drops to the back and he gets a near fall. Smith with a knee to Curtis’s back followed by a forearm to the back as Smith appears to start a focus on Curtis’s back. Wilson tags in and they send Curtis into the turnbuckles. Wilson with a snap mare and a kick to the back. Wilson continues to work on the back. Curtis with an elbow and punch and then he gets a sunset flip but Wilson was able to make the tag so Smith with kicks to Curtis. Smith hits an overhead belly-to-belly suplex for a near fall. Smith tries for a Boston Crab but Curtis tries to block it but Smith locks it in but Curtis can get to the ropes. Smith with a forearm to the back and then he tries for a power bomb but Curtis blocks it and Curtis with a back body drop. Wilson makes the tag and he hits an elbow to the back as he keeps Curtis from making the tag. Wilson with a back elbow and a near fall. Wilson with a knee drop and then Smith is tagged back in. Smith with a kick to the midsection and then he hits a back breaker for a near fall. Smith with a reverse chin lock. Curtis gets out of a suplex attempt and he hits a spinning heel kick.

Reks tags in and he punches Smith and hits a flying shoulder and a back elbow. Reks with drop kicks to Smith and then he hits a version of Ghanarhea. Reks does the wave into an elbow drop for a near fall. Reks with a punch and Wilson makes the blind tag and Wilson hits a Hart Attack but Curtis breaks up the cover. Wilson throws Curtis out of the ring and Wilson gets another near fall. Wilson with a forearm and then he goes to the apron but Reks with a shoulder. Smith tries to interfere and he is thwarted. The referee deals with Smith while Wilson tries for a springboard move but he misses Reks. Curtis comes in illegally and hits a Falcon Arrow and Reks gets the three count.

Winners: Tyler Reks and Johnny Curtis
