New NWA National Champion, Phil Shatter, Comments On The Title

Bill Behrens

This want be long but it will be from the heart. Do you know what it means to be The NWA National Champion? To me it is history, it is a blessing to be apart of a 60 year tradition that is still going strong to the this day. The NWA National Heavyweight Title was brought into play in 1980 and the first man crowned was Austin Idol. Many others have carried this prestiges title since including but not limited to, Paul Orndorff, Ted Dibiase, Ron Garvin, Terry Taylor, Dusty Rhodes, Tully Blanchard and Nikita Koloff. The list goes on and on but what im getting at is as a kid i watched many of these great story tellers and so did you some of you readers. Its  my time to mark out and by god with this one i will. I can say that my name is etched in stone with all these other greats. For 8 years i have took what Abel Adams and others have taught me and carried it on the road. I strive to be the best at what i do and this is just a start. I am my own worst critic when it comes to my career as a wrestler but that is what makes me study this art form and keep pushing so oneday i can stand along the greats and call myself a legend. Thanks for your time and to many your support. I want let the NWA down and i will carry this trophy with much pride and my head held high.
