Sci-Fi to Undergo a Name Change, TNA Star Injured Last Night

The New York Times is reporting that the Sci-Fi network, which is home to ECW, will be undergoing a name change this July as it will be referred to as SyFy instead of its current name. The change is being made to allow the network to air more of a varitety of content as opposed to limiting itself to just the Science Fiction genre. Network president David Howe was quoted as saying, "We love being sci fi and we’re still embracing that. But we’re more than just space and aliens and the future – the three things most people think of when they think of ‘sci fi.’ What this does is hopefully give us the best of both worlds. You keep the heritage, but also open up to a broader range of content."
