Steve Austin’s WWE Hall Of Fame Speech Edited On TV

Kirby David sent along the following to WrestleZone.com: Last night I attended the Hall Of Fame. One thing that surprised me was during "Stone Cold" Steve Austin’s speech, when I watched the televised version they cut like five minutes of an already short speech out of him.

The edited content was an apology for no-showing in 2002 when "he took his ball and went home". He stated he always wanted to apologize to the fans in Atlanta because he always prided himself in making all of his appereances.

He also stated he would be leaving after WrestleMania to go start filming the Sylvester Stallone movie "The Expendables". And someone in the audience yelled, "Say something Cena" implying that John Cena has been very vocal lately about The Rock, I mean Dwayne Johnson, leaving wrestling for movies.

That’s all for now I’m on my way to Axxess from 1PM-5PM and WrestleMania right after so more notes to come.

  • Speaking of the Hall Of Fame and WrestleMania weekend, WrestleZone.com’s own Chris Cash is in Houston this week with a camera crew, and will be returning next video with a number of exclusive video interviews with WWE Superstars and legends.
