What happens when you mix the two together? NWA-Anarchy!
– Welcome to NWA Anarchy, this is PROFESSIONAL WRESTLING~! Season’s Beatings is almost upon us and last week several events occurred leading up to it. First, Adrian Hawkins provided an assist to help Azreal challenge Slim J for the Young Lions Title. As a result, Hayden Young and Hawkins have a date in 7 days. Second, Dan Wilson & the Devil’s Rejects failed to answer NWA Anarchy TV Champion Truitt Fields’ open challenge to Iceberg in a title vs. title match. The Rejects responded by attempting to launch an attack, but Shaun Tempers reappeared to save the day and snatch up a rematch with Fields for the TV Title. Also, John Johnson conducted an interview with alleged #1 contenders to the NWA Anarchy Tag Team Titles Talent & Money; the segment ended with Bill Behrens booking a three way captains match between Jeremy Vain vs. JT Talent vs. Chad Parham. The rematch for the final spot in the three way dance for the NWA Anarchy Heavyweight Title match between Phil Shatter and Mikael Judas will occur. The match is no DQ, no countout.
– We head to the ring and look who is pregnant doging and complaining as usual, "Agent/Attorney" Jeff G. Bailey. This week he is utterly pissed at Ace Rockwell’s abject cowardice and Jerry Palmer’s abuse of power leaving him all alone in the ring. With Kimo about to eliminate Rockwell, a stupid referee interfered and cost his suspension. Then, Bailey airs footage of the assault and subsequent suspension by Palmer. After commercial, Bailey is mad that the insignificant speck of a referee didn’t die. What happened to Wes Grissom is Rockwell’s fault. The two co-conspirators made two relevant statements (according to Bailey): (1) Rockwell said someone has to stop Kimo, and (2) someone had the nerve to call the Butcher of Pyongyang an animal. LOL! Animals? What happens when you put an animal in a cage? Bailey issues the open challenge to Rockwell to face off the with an animal inside a steal cage match at Season’s Beatings. After calling Rockwell a yellow bellied coward, guess who shows up? It isn’t Terry Funk. No, it’s Rockwell entering the NWA Arena chanting his name. Rockwell note that he doesn’t have a yellow streak down his back, so he can’t be a coward. Bailey thought the video was hilarious and John Johnson gives it two thumbs up. Rockwell feels terrible about it, but its water under the bridge. And the open challenge? Rockwell gladly accepts to kick Kimo’s ass inside of a steal cage. NWA Anarchy Owner Jerry Palmer heads out to even the odds by adding the stipulation that Rockwell can win by escaping the cage. If Kimo touches the official, Kimo and Bailey will be gone. Johnson soils himself in disbelief. Bailey laughs at the fact that tonight’s special referee for Shatter’s match, Shadow Jackson will not be there and he is also a coward. Palmer said
1. Jeremy Vain w/"the One Man Insurance Policy" Mr. Rob Adonis vs. "Numero Uno" Chad Parham w/"Boy Wonder" Seth Delay vs. JT Talent w/Andrew Pendleton III ended in a no contest.
This starts off with a three way face off and Vain plastering Parham. At ringside, Delay chills with a bottle of beer. Talent slaps the taste out of Parham’s mouth and this turns into an all out fight. Three way action ensues for several minutes. After Parham breaks up a Vain pin attempt, all three partners hop on the apron. After commercial, Talent takes Vain down with a clothesline and an inverted Russian legsweep. Talent then whips Vain and he baseball slide kicks Parham. Talent continues to display his Talent until Mr. Adonis grabs his leg and Vain follows up with the VDT. The referee immediately calls for the bell once Pendleton pulls Vain off Talent on a pinfall attempt. All Hades breaks loose as several referees head to ringside to quell the situation. To the back, the New Wave, standing on a ladder, challenges all three teams to a ladder match at Season’s Beatings. The heels argue mid ring as we head to commercial.
– Jerry Palmer’s 30 days possession of Coates has expired and Brodie Ray Chase heads out to confront the situation head on. Johnson refers to Coates as "two-timing gutter trash." Johnson sure likes kicking a woman when she is down! Chase continues to harass and blame Coates about losing her for 30 days. He prepares to strike Coates, but Palmer makes the save. Palmer gets gangster with Chase by leveling his disgusting carcass with a forearm. Palmer pulls off his jacket and welcomes Chase into the ring, but he chickens out.
2. "Priest of Punishment" Mikael Judas pinned "Universal Soldier" Phil Shatter w/"Attorney/Agent" Jeff G Bailey in a no DQ, no countout match to earn a shot at the NWA Anarchy Heavyweight Title at Season’s Beatings.
This match was an incredibly strange sight. It had top notch wrestling and an eerily silent crowd. Bill Behrens serves as special guest referee for this contest. It seems like the old man that Johnson wishes to kick the bucket is out to deliver more sadistic torture to out esteemed color commentator. The action quickly spreads to the floor where Judas lands his patented flying clothesline. Judas manhandles Shatter at ringside including choking him with wiring. A fan holds up a chair and Judas smashes Shatter’s head on it. After commercial, Bailey allows the Universal Solider to gain the advantage by tripping up Judas on the top rope. Shatter mounts the turnbuckle and delivers a major league suplex. Shatter rips the padding off the top turnbuckle. After more domination by Shatter, he grabs a chair from Bailey and jabs Judas’ back with it. Shatter continues to work over Judas’ back and limit his oxygen supply. After commercial, Judas fires back with knees, kicks and strikes. Shatter ducks the Yakuza kick and runs head first into the chair lodged between the middle and exposed top turnbuckle. Judas mounts the top turnbuckle looking for a flying clothesline, but Shatter spears him in midair. Shatter heads to the High Rent District, but Judas makes him pay with a Rocket Launcher and a Yakuza kick. After ducking a clothesline, Shatter hits the PTSD powerbomb. After commercial, Shatter makes the cover and almost scores the victory. Judas catches a frustrated Shatter on the middle turnbuckle and chokeslams him. Judas makes the cover, but Shatter kicks out. Judas sets up for the El Crucifijo while Bailey mounts the apron with a mysterious white powder in hand. Judas drops Shatter to confront Bailey. Bailey’s actions backfire as Behrens accidentally causes the power to go into Bailey’s eyes. Shatter takes advantage of the distraction, but not enough to the hit the PTSD. Judas escapes and hits the chokebreaker for the victory.
– As Hunter signals the close of the show, NWA Anarchy Heavyweight Champion Iceberg and Dan Wilson confront Judas from ringside. Iceberg hoists his prized possession to taunt the Judas. Good way to close the show, but too bad the crowd was silent.

03/31/2009 – Rants, Raves & Random Thoughts by Rich Tate
A few members of the Georgia Wrestling History crew attended the last NWA Anarchy show, but it was more than just wrestling we were there to see. My co-host on Peach State Pandemonium, Les Thatcher, was holding a training camp, and we wanted to not only visit with him during breaks, but also watch him in action as he worked to enhance the talents of several veteran wrestlers, and also helping kids newer to the business get a better understanding of how to put on a good match, not just using their skills but also how to use psychology.
Knowing Les for many years, I have heard much of what he had to say to the guys, but seeing their reactions was what I really wanted to see. You could almost see imaginary light bulbs going off over their heads as he made his points as to why something does or doesn’t work well. While I realize the camp was voluntary on the part of the Anarchy crew, it was clear during the actual show that some of the boys who were at the camp were trying to utilize some of what they had learned, only to have it not play out correctly since many of the roster did not participate in the camp. Hopefully, the guys who did attend can pass along what it was they learned and were trying to accomplish, so that the knowledge continues to spread. There were also a lot of guys who were not part of the Anarchy crew at the camp, and no doubt they will also take what they learned and try and pass it along to their colleagues over the years.
Larry Goodman and I spent a good portion of last week’s PSP show discussing the camp, and also had Ace Rockwell with us, who participated over the weekend. It may have come off as a thirty-minute sales pitch for Les and his Elite Pro Wrestling Training, but Les is one of the few guys left who can teach every aspect of the business to the younger generation. His passion and love for professional wrestling puts him on a different plane than some of the schools or trainers out there who simply will take your money and call you a wrestler, sending you off into the business not fully equipped to succeed. I’m not saying he is the only capable trainer, or that all of the school are rip-offs, but Les is definitely at the top of the heap when it comes to true professionals to learn from if you want to go far in the business. I couldn’t believe the feedback I got from a comment I made on the show. A few promoters seemed to take exception, as I called Anarchy the premier wrestling promotion in
It is a shame so many independent promoters get their feelings hurt when someone dares to utter compliments toward another promotion, or when someone criticizes something they do. There is not a single promotion, Anarchy included, who ever puts on a perfect show top to bottom. A compliment for one promotion is not a knock on another, nor does it mean your promotion stinks because one of the matches wasn’t well received by a person writing a report. Quite simply, as long as the criticism is constructive, use that criticism to learn and make improvements.
NWA Charlotte returns to the NWA Coliseum on April 11 with "Final Destination: The End of the Beginning" featuring Ryan O’Reilly vs. Truitt Fields to crown the new Charlotte Heavyweight Champion; Jim Cornette takes over the company, as JD Costello hands Cornette full control in an attempt to restore law and order; The debuting Reid Flair joins David Flair & Brad Anderson vs. Jeff Lewis & CW Anderson & a mystery partner; Ricky Steamboat Jr. will make his NWA Charlotte debut; The remaining matches will be determined by Cornette. Talent on hand will include NWA National Champion Phil Shatter, Kimo (with Attorney/Agent Jeff G. Bailey), New Wave (Steven Walters & Derrick Driver); Iceberg, American Gangsters, Timber, Team Ego (Abel Adams & Will Snapp), Zack Salvation, Dylan Kage, Josh Magnum and Malachi (with Ty Dillinger).

WRESTLING WITH HUNGER SETS 72 HOUR+ WORLD RECORD WHILE RAISING OVER 3,000 POUNDS OF FOOD FOR FOOD BANK

Wrestling With Hunger began at 2pm on April 2nd and wrapped up today (April 5th) just after 2pm. The twenty wrestlers grappled around the clock for three days at Hyde Creek Recreation Centre in
In 2007, the three food bank depots operated by SHARE in the Tri-Cities provided food to 1,142 households totaling 5,598 people. 45.1% of the recipients are children and youth under the age of 19 – an increase of 8.1% over the previous year. The need for donations at this time of year is great.
Schools, businesses, churches, organizations and individuals were encouraged to setup their own food drives and then bring the donations to the Wrestling With Hunger event location. The community responded with 3,021 pounds of food.

Hiroshi Tanahashi’s evolution continued today as the brilliant young superstar of the Japanese wrestling industry shone brightly and fended off the challenge of global superstar Kurt Angle today at Sumo Hall. The man who has helped bring so much back to the IWGP Heavyweight Title followed up on his Tokyo Dome victory over Keiji Muto and successful V1 defense over rival Shinsuke Nakamura by facing the former IWGP 3rd Belt holder, Angle, in an electric main event full of drama and great crowd heat. Tanahashi endured Angle’s ankle locks and bombs, winning cleanly and decisively with two High Fly Flows to further cement his status as the ace. Tanahashi, who will next defend against NJC winner Hirooki Goto in
Nakamura has been trying to keep up with Tanahashi since failing to lift the belt off him in February but a loss to Goto in the New Japan Cup didn’t help matter. Today, he risked losing to the other of the four men who top the new generation, Togi Makabe, who sought revenge for his NJC round one loss to Nakamura. Perhaps Makabe might have beaten Nakamura had not his GBH ally Toru Yano suddenly betrayed him with a chairshot, leading to Nakamura hitting the Landslide for the win. There was much confusion over Yano’s status after the match but the general question was is Yano about to join Nakamura in the fight against GBH? Yano himself fell to the on-fire Goto earlier in the show but only after a difficult challenge against the #1 contender for Tanahashi’s title.
Former tag partners and once upon a time trusted friends, Yuji Nagata and Takashi Iizuka, went to war in a Chain Death Match today, the first of its kind since Iizuka put Tenzan to sleep in the same building last October.
