AT RANDOM: Chris Cash Looks At Last Night’s Edition Of Raw

wzchriscash@yahoo.com

– Happy Memorial Day everyone!

– Wow, we are actually having this promoted showdown between McMahon and Kroenke.  I’m not looking forward to it as a wrestling fan, but you have to admit that Vince definitely knows how to exploit a bad thing and turn it into great publicity for the WWE.  Although he was probably pissed initially, he’s loving every minute of it now.  The WWE is gettng all the sympathy points in addition to the unexpected publicity on all the major media outlets.  Say what you want about Vince creatively nowadays, he is still a marketing genius.

– Haha, the XBA!  Funny stuff hearing Vince taking a shot at himself and the creation that cost him shitloads years back when he tried to rival the NFL with the XFL.

– Does anyone realize how Vince McMahon can get away with this without legal liabilities?  Slander?  Defamation of character?  I’m not a lawyer, so I’m sure Vince is completely covered, but I have no idea how.  Either way, thanks to Vince for keeping that segment short and sweet.

– They are seriously putting Miz over and he’s finally starting to grow on me as a mainstay talent, which I wasn’t expecting to happen so soon.

– The end to that opening segment got a little sloppy for me with all the run-in’s, but overall, typical stuff to promote the Main Event.

– Okay, so I’ve decided to be completely open-minded for this Diva’s Championship match and give it a chance.  Good reversal by Kelly Kelly, followed up by a semi-decent looking clothesline…sweet back-flip thingy…great agressssssssssssdikafjoasdlfjas;dlkfsd;fljkjdf;alfjaskfjddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddas;lkdf

Damnit, I tried!

– I think that had to be one of the worst Jack Nicholson impersonators I have ever heard.  He looked the part, but that was it.  Good to see the nostalgic flashback with Goldust and the electrocution angle.  It was stupid, silly, and pointless when it was actually happening, but now that it’ over (for the most part, at least), it’s funny to remember just how bad he’s had it in his career, despite being a pretty damn good wrestler.

– So, we’re 40 minutes into the show and we’ve had one mat…..no matches.  If the entertainment side of the show was overwhelming, I’d be competely okay with that, but it hasn’t.  It’s been a very lackluster effort thus far.

– Triple Threat for a chance at MVP’s United States title: Normally, I would assume this has to go to either Regal or Hardy simply due to the fact that they are heels.  However, since the title match will take place next week on Raw, Kofi has a chance . Kofi is extremely talented and I remember Kevin Kelly telling us on our VOW radio show (live Monday nights from 7:30-8:30 EST here on WZ…sorry) that he expected great things this year for Kofi.  I could definitely see that, but not until they give him something more creatively.

There you have it, Kofi gets the win and goes on to face MVP next week on Raw.  Decent match, but nothing to write home about which is often the case in triple threats.  They are heard to make fluent it seems and without a lot of preparation beforehand – which is probably considerably less on free television than on pay per view – they tend to be sloppy more times than not.  MVP vs Kofi should be fun next week.

– Man, Flair looks RIPPED in that shirt!
